Would Charlotte Support The Tampa Rays?

Jerry Reese thinks big. You think small. I can't help that.

And Jerry Reese is a f'ing idiot!

Charlotte won't even support the Bobcats and lately has even had questions about supporting the Panthers.

South Florida is terrible at supporting teams anyway. Just ask the Jaguars who had to tarp over seats to consistently meet the NFL's sell out rule.

I don't care how many lawsuit Reese bring against the city, there no way that it would support a MLB team.

Build a stadium for the Knight to play Uptown before the city spends more money it doesn't have to build a bigger stadium. This is NOT the Field of Dreams! "If you build it they will come!" Shoeless Joe Jackson isn't coming back from the dead to play for the Charlotte Rays!

I think a Charlotte team could do as well as some of the other teams, not saying those are great though. The thing about Charlotte is, I believe we'd have a lot of people traveling here to watch a baseball team. People travel to Atlanta from pretty far away to see the Braves and have been for a while. Virginia/WV/NC, etc, have tons of Braves fans cause it's the closest team for most of those people. If we got a team, and had a decent broadcast deal so those states could view games, I think we'd be OK after a few years. Still, would be hard.

    • KB was on his way, but the combo of tearing his ACL and losing his mom was just too much. I don't think he had the mental makeup to be great for long, but I can imagine a universe where he had a David Boston type career where he was dominant for a brief period before weight issues and injuries derailed him.
    • He and Shedeur both looked better than Bryce has. I'm not sold on Cam Ward. He's got some bad, bad footwork problems. Dude will make some wow plays but he will also make some wow mistakes this year. His footwork reminds me a lot of Cam's and that was never his strong suit, and why he failed after his shoulder injury.
    • Morgan and Canales haven't even been around long enough to credibly decide whether or not their moves have been boneheaded. At least give it another season.
