Just Watched Cloverfield

Downloaded some blu ray h264 rip from BTjunkie and watched it on my PS3. Movie was intense. I'm a bit late seeing it but it was worth traveling back in time for. The cinematography works in this film. It really makes you feel your a part of the event and the actors do a good enough job of selling the situations. Also the special effects are good enough as well. This movie just worked, good job by the staff and I recommend it if any of you haven't seen it.

I agree the special effects were great, but the overall movie was just okay for me. A much better movie is District 9.

I literally couldn't watch cloverfield. It gave me a splitting headache within ten minutes. District nine was pretty good though

I preferred Cloverfield although I did love the quirky humor in District 9.

I thought Cloverfield was pretty decent. It was a good idea that could have been done better. I did like the last scene where you see an object falling into the ocean. It was hardly noticeable to most.

Cloverfield was great, it was a either LIKE or HATE movie though. I liked it, but I thought I wouldn't, usually not liking viral things, etc like that.

District 9 is one of the top 10 sci-fi films ever, not really in the same group as Cloverfield.

Yeah, but the realism of the special effects kind of reminded me of Cloverfield.

My problem with Cloverfield was that by the time poo started hitting the fan, I didn't care what happened to the characters. They were just the type of characters that left me feeling disconnected and apathetic.

I've got to agree with you on that. Within 20 minutes, I couldn't care less about the characters.

I agree about the characters. They didn't establish them very well, but I don't think they wanted to get the audience attached. The premise of the movie was that the tapes were found by the government, and we were just watching what was found. It was meant to be more "realistic" than emotionally driven. That's why everyone just died.

Some of you have some pretty low movie standards...

Cloverfield was okay for what it was, but it wasn't all that groundbreaking or entertaining to me...

If you liked it, you'll like Quarantine... Both are shot in a similar fashion, and have the same type of feel...
