Defensive Hypothetical

No way in hell would I touch Haynesworth with a ten foot poll. Once he gets paid, he'll go back to the underperforming slob he was before his first contract year.

Asomugah, on the other hand, would be great, and I think if we got someone of his caliber we would adapt the schemes to fit his skills. With that said, there is no chance we get him. Oakland will never let him go. Expect the exclusive franchise tag.

Most Skins fans would disagree with you. I'm neither here nor there, but living in Redskin country...most cant stand him.

I want Aso from Oakland in our backfield. One way or another.

In fairness, Gamble is a good corner and many of our own don't care for him either.

Next to quarterback. corner might be the one position on the field on which most fans have the lowest amount of understanding and/or perspective.

really? why is that? i don't understand the "sign and trade" deal or no-trade clauses or whatever

Generally when you trade a franchised player a deal is basically in place between the player and the receiving team before he's dealt. That way your not giving up high draft picks for a one year loan of a player. Plus, Pep won't agree to a contract with a team that he does not want to go to. He served his time hear and wants his chance to choose his employer like all free agents.

if current DC is still here.

Anyone know anyplayers (DBs) that can play a 5-15 yard cushion and still get picks and make tackles before the opposing team gets a first down?

I like herm but do you think the FO is waiting for the SB to be over before going after a new DC? (That is if they are.)

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
