I'll give you that he can out run both of them, but he has a stronger arm? lolwut?

This is the same guy that they told he couldn't be a QB in the NFL, so he has to take his speed and become a Wide Receiver? And we're talking about Clausen who was supposed to be a Top 15 pick in the draft?

dude...

You may be right but I don't think so. I know I'm swimming up stream here but have you seen the guy throw maybe even once or twice? Again I may be wrong but I think most of what kept him from being considered an NFL QB was his size not his arm.

Regardless I'm happy to see him get a shot at WR and frustrated as hell by our QB play when I know what he can do at QB in at least a part time role.

Yes he has a better arm than either, he has the best arm on the team. Any scout that said he didn't have a good arm didn't really do any scouting on Armanti. Read up on any scout that actually did and you will read glowing reports on arm strength. The only downside and I mean ONLY downside that kept him from being a legit QB prospect in the pros was his height.

haha the only thing clausen is good at is throwing the ball out of bounds..i guess if we are talking about that, then yes his arm is pretty good.

LOL. U SO FUNNY!!1!1!!!

No, seriously.

His arm is strong, sure. But saying that he has the strongest arm on the team is outrageous. (I guess you guys are not considering Tony Pike. /sarcasm.)

I love the fact that we have Armanti on the team. But, I'm not delusional. I'm not going to sit here and say that he is a better QB than Jimmy Clausen, nor am I going to say that he's the next Michael Vick. (Because, trust me, for every Mike Vick there is an Aaron Brooks or Quincy Carter.)

I think we should utilize Armanti in the same fashion that the Jets use Brad Smith. He's constantly getting the ball into his hands, and he makes plays.

If you honestly think that Tony "noodle arm" Pike belongs in a discussion about arm strength than you have lost any and all credibility where this is concerned.

I thought I have heard he has a very strong arm and seriously JC doesn't really have that strong of an arm we all know that was one his knocks coming out. MM knock was arm strength also we were screaming he has a weak arm blah blah last year before he played. I was concerned about MM and his arm somewhat to be honest, the only thing AE is lacking is hieght simple and plain. I dont think based on him not going through training camp at the position he can play full time but he has the tools to help our offense move the ball. Jimmy needs to watch and learn some I like em but he's not ready.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
