And you know I saw this coming(but the cheerleaders deserve it).

Tried to warn y-all. The Clausen hate is so typical and totally expected but can't say the cheerleaders on this board didn't call for it with hyping him up so damn much. This is why I was pushing for keeping the expectations low around here and look at him realistically.

Fox screwed up. And then he puts in Moore with 4 minutes to go to throw 2 interceptions. He embaressed both QB's and made them look 100% incompetent for the job.

And I'm pretty sure that isn't the case at all. Not like the mob is going to stop and think now. So go ahead and pull out those axes and chop away bandwagoneers.

Go ahead and call for Pike or AE so you can trash him in 3 weeks when he can't do poo either.

Peace. I'll be back when some sort of rational thinking prevails around here again.

Well let's be honest. Any internet fool calling a rookie the next anointed one is a bit retarded. They're in droves, though.

Who cares? Ignore and enjoy the (few) good moments of football for us. I look forward to next year. Obvious changes are on the horizon.

That's just the thing. NOW you can say that. You should have tried making that statement around here 3 weeks ago.

One extreme to the other.

What's even funnier to me about some that are calling for Fox's head(don't get me wrong, I want him gone but for a lot of other reasons) is that he pretty much did exactly what YOU, the vocal fans, and the media wanted this year as far as the QB's goes.

I'm still trying to find these posts where anybody has called Clausen the second coming of Montana or Manning.

Most have said he is improving week to week. If anybody thought he won't ever never have a bad game and only get better. Well they are just stupid.

So for the others who have been shitting on Clausen from the start and now seem to be happy he had a bad game....y'all are just sad.

Anyone that thought Clausen was going to come in and be the savior of the team is retarded, that's just putting it blunt. But he has far more upside than Matt Moore, and since they decided to start him they should stick with him and let him gain some experience, this year is a wash anyway. Also this was his first game with out Steve Smith so you know it's going to be much harder with 3 rookie wideouts. You even trying to make a "I told you so thread" is just insane, you're really not making a valid point whatsoever.

I was hyping Clausen like crazy but alot of it was tongue and cheek. I didn't really expect him to come in and throw for 400 yards and 5 TDs every week as a rookie.

I thought he would eventually develop into a good QB down the road and I still do. I'm realistic, I know he's going to make the typical rookie mistakes and there are going to be growing pains.

But really, look at the situation he came into...

Outdated predictable offensive scheme...check.

Worst and most inexperienced WR corps in the league...check.

Horrible archaic playcalling...check.

Terrible OLine play...check.

Just to put it into perspective, he had better receiving threats, better protection and better play calling at Notre Dame than he does on his NFL team.

No rookie QB in the history of the league could come in and turn this mess around in 3 games. Nobody.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
