One thing that has bugged me about today...

lightsout

Ok, I'm not TOTALLY sure about the fair catch rule in the NFL, but I know how it is called in high school and it is pretty much the same in college. If the return man calls for a fair catch, you can't touch him at all. Period.

Now, when Munnerlyn called for the fair catch and the Bear defender came down and wrapped him up as soon as he secured the ball, that HAS to be fair catch interference. Why was it not called? What if Munnerlyn loses control of the ball because of that? Is it just a muffed catch at that point, even though he called for the fair catch and contact was made that caused him to drop it? Again, if I'm wrong on this, somebody explain it to me so I understand. But it just doesn't make sense to me.

    • just read the thread. I would like to say that the team not being sold to Tepper is an absolute banger of an answer and probably the right one

Initial gut reaction when I first thought of this question is Kasay kicks it in bounds on the kickoff, but unfortunately I still think New England wins that game even with that My second instinct was pulling Bene out before he breaks his leg in the playoffs. My crackpot theory is if he never gets hurt we win the superbowl. I refuse to go back and watch the game but at some point Peyton throw an absolute duck that should have been pick 6'd. but because we were on our like fifth outside corner he was slow to the ball. this would have completely flipped that game because I'm pretty sure Denver scored that drive and the next one was the Cam sack fumble
