This doesn't even sound like Richardson...

Richardson had to go through an operation on his heart about two years ago or so & I remember we all cheered/prayed for him...so it doesn't make any sense for him to be so cheap & not care about his fans this season. I know this sounds stupid but perhaps there's a catch to this...Even the players don't know what the hell is going on. I know Fox is clueless

Apparently in this day and age, preparing for the future is seen as cowardly and selfish. Instant gratification rules the NFL and anything other than now, now, now is reacted to with contempt. I'm not agreeing with his decisions, but if it eventually leads to a multiple year run as a contender rather than on a year, off a year then I'm on board.

I would like to think that is the case, and not that he's just trying to make some sick, psycho point to the players union and other owners.

Or maybe it's just that Jerry owes much of his success to the NFL as an organization. He respects the league and above his own franchise that has made him who he is today, upholds what the NFL has established as "in their best interest." Without the NFL, there is no Carolina, might he think to give back to a business that granted him with an expansion franchise some years ago? Doesn't seem too senile to me. Mr. Richardson handles his franchise and business with class and ethics. Whether we as fans can admit it or not, the league's well-being, to Richardson, is more important than winning at the current time. All teams rebuild, some overhaul when economics call for it.

Panther fans, patience would do us all some good. I've never been more excited for this team, somehow...

Probably the most sane and level-headed post I've seen on the huddle. Where have you been?

I'll agree with the patience thing. That'a about all we can do anyway.

As for the other stuff you said, I think it says more about who you are than it does about JR - being a class act and ethical, and all that. And I mean that as a compliment, just to be clear.

The reality is... the "NFL" as a league is in it for the money. And personally, I don't see how cutting most all of your veterans, going cheap, and preaching to the other owners to "take their NFL back" at the risk of a lockout year is anything BUT being about the money.

I'm not saying that winning isn't important to the franchise owners, or to Richardson, for that matter. I'm sure it is. But sometimes, some people can cut off their nose to spite their face. I may be wrong, but I have to admit that is the idea that has crossed my mind many times as I watch this team play.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
