Rookie QB to Rookie WRs

I lol hard whenever jimmy doesnt perform up to manning standards, it should have been manning to harrion-clausen to gettis for some fans here. Disregard anything you know about how a qb develops, in the huddle if you dont "pro bowl" it out there, you are a bust after 3 games. Man I miss the offseason.

Fun fact: Clausen is the first QB in NFL history to botch a handoff.

MY GOD these next 14 days are going to SUCK. I'm guessing 150 Clausen/Moore threads, 85 Richardson threads, 50 fantasy world trade threads, and 49 What If threads.

We should all just take a vacation until a few days before the 49ers game.

That was the rookie WRs fault.

Clausen just needed to do something... anything other than nothing and he didn't.

Now...now...everyone knows WR's don't have an effect on handing the ball off. It was obviously the snow having an affect on his grip, i mean you gotta admit its been pouring down the last couple of weeks.

clausen was abysmal as all hell that game. completely, totally terrible. but he wasn't alone in that - far from it. outside of that first drive, we had like 10 yards all until garbage time. Good god.

one messed up handoff didn't lose us that game. Know what did? the fact that nobody could catch, Clausen couldn't throw, Moore threw picks, our running backs didn't have lanes, our playcalling was as predictable as it gets, and our defense took a 10 minute break at the start of the game. Terrible. Nobody ever got into any kind of rhythm, because any time ANYTHING happened, it was called back by a f'ing penalty or a sack on the next play.

That's why we lost the damn game. Get over the fuged up handoff. Why not point out the bigger problems, like the fact he got sacked a half dozen times or the fact he looked scared and unable to complete anything more than 10 yards? How about his lack of pocket poise? There's a million and one things to pick on Clausen over, but the one liners harping on that failed handoff is frustrating... and hopefully he doesn't do it again in two weeks so I never have to hear about it again. :P

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
