Why not Armanti Edwards at QB?

Ok, I get it, the orginization has made it clear he's a 'project' who has been working with and taking reps with wide receivers..

1) the guy won 2 national championships at the quarterback position. yes, competition was inferior, it's not like all of his teammates at app st were above and beyond all other teams. He beat Flacco in a championship game and Henne at Michigan.. why are they starters and Armanti can't even be taken seriously as a QB?

2) With Rookie receivers who can't create separation (among other issues), we need to create offense FROM the backfield; not rely on things to open up downfield while one of our mediocre, immobile QB's (Clausen, Moore, Pike) sit in the pocket to either take a fumble/sack or throw a terrible pass.

I realize the hope of his playing as much as I think he should is far-fetched, but with where we are in this season, I think a little boldness in offensive scheme is called for.. I say (for now) half the snaps go to Armanti in the "mountaineer" and half to Jimmy to keep giving him reps as a rookie...

y'all's thoughts..

I agree 100%! I have wanted him to start at QB since day one, the guy can play football thats all that matters. Who cares how tall he is he is a playmaker and will make it happen!

They should ask Jerry Moore how to best use Armanti in the spread offense.

The Panthers have not given him a fair shot at qb. He could not do any worse than what we have seen so far this season. He is quicker than any qb

on the team and can open the offense up so slow down the pass rush.

Chirs leak hehe just cause he played for Independence doesnt mean hes all that good lol.. but anyway Armanti should at least get a start at QB it cant hurt we are 0-5 folks. and just because hes undersized a little bit and was in FCS doesnt make him the best player of the guys not good enough to make it to the big schools FBS. remember Jerry Rice at MVS the greatest of all time. (not that hes a hall of fame caliber player) but the guy set NCAA history. Carolina is a running team why not add that dimension to the Quarter Back position. remember a few years ago when Vick was in ATL and how many times he hurt us. Edwards isnt a below average passer hes looked great in practice and he knows how to sling it o give him a chance. Moore cant get it done Clausen hasnt got it down yet lets try something new maybe get another 03' season when Delhomme replaced peete at halftime lol

Moss was recruited by FLORIDA STATE. Flacco went to PITT before transfering.

No one is denying that the FCS produces some great players. Some of the greatest...not sure how to factor in grades (ACT-SAT), race (past issue), discipline issues (Randy Moss). The level of competition is second tier though and if you argue that then I am sorry for you and hope that ont breed because your children and your childrens children will be idiots.

Show me a spread QB who has had a great amount of success in the NFL.

Think your an idiot...Im pretty sure that if someone did research on who tried to recruit AE you would find some amazing schools. Although not a reliable source, I saw on Wikipedia he was recruited by Georgia, New Mexico State, and Clemson. I also found on another yahoo that schools also includes Vanderbilt, and Memphis.
