Definitely seen Clausen change plays at the line after starting the snap cadence, but I don't recall if he had his mouth guard in or not when he did it. It doesn't happen all the time (and I don't know that it happened against the bears, but it did against the Saints), but he was doing it a bit.

I am pretty sure he did it against the Bears on a slant that Lafell dropped, but I could be remembering wrong. It was either that play, or the one to Rosario against the Saints that got a first down. Either way, he came out, got set, then backed up and started barking before throwing a slant.

It may have been the only time he's done it for all I know :P He did it in the preseason much more often... seemed way more comfortable then than he does now.

That is ridiculous. Look at Manning for example he comes up to the line in the no huddle with 15-18 seconds. Once they come set he will back out and change the call if the defense changes it's formation. Delhomme would often change the call while underneath center. We aren't talking about the normal moving that defenses do, we are talking about two or three guys coming up to the line in an obvious blitz and Clausen running the same play irregardless.

Manning either doesn't use a mouth guard or never takes it in/out - he changes the plays multiple times, and I haven't noticed him taking a mouth guard in and out. Do you know which it is? I went to try to find some highlights but I couldn't tell if he was using them because the quality is somewhat low and doesn't show enough of the pre-snap stuff.

I would say the majority of pros don't wear one at all. Just my opinion/observations but I didn't research it or anything.

The QB's that typically don't get hit don't wear one. I don't think Manning or Brady do, but I think Brees does.

Clausen should keep his in or else bite his own tongue off with a helmet to the chin.

I can't imagine that anyone plays without one. I think QB's learn to talk around the mouthpiece. Jake wears one, so does Phillip Rivers. I remember seeing them take it out with a time out. Brady & Manning are too smart to not wear one. Jimmy needs to learn to talk with it in, everyone else does.

"Moore...you're my guy!" - Fox

What if those were the four words? Seriously though that can't be good news but I wonder how many he said to Jimmy. I didn't hear this quote from Moore, where/when was it?

The last sentence made me lol.

Not sure where I saw it in the Observer but here it is at Carolina Growl

    • Especially with no other major sports in the area other than UNCW basketball and soccer. It's a good 2 1/2 hour drive just to catch a collegiate football game. If this new arena were built I would hope it also includes an Adult League - I would join up and time allowing would be more than happy to help coach some youth teams. 😄
    • That was real fear in his eyes when the rope was being taken. My younger days, I had my best friend that happened to be black come over all the time. I had the nicest bulldog on the planet, my friend Damon was scared to death of him. His grandmother and daddy taught him to fear all dawgs and seen the same fear in his face and voice.    I think alllll young kids should take swimming lessons and not fear the water. Very thankful my parents did this, I no longer get in the ocean since its 50% sewage. But I enjoyed all the lakes, pools, and oceans I swam in.
    • My personal opinion is the non-guaranteed contract is the main reason for NFL success. MLB and NBA players are on cruise control after their big contracts and it shows in the product.  NFL is each year you are fighting for your job. Same for the majority of the public.... You get lazy or try to coast after the 100+ million contract, your ass will be cut within 1-2 years. Then the next one will not even touch 100 million+. Besides a few NBA players like Kobe was coming for blood with a 300 million contract or 1 doll hair deal. Brandy Beal just reached a buyout where he was getting 110 million, many other cases..... I dare say his name for the hornets guy..... MLB sooo many times as well.    If the NFL starts fully guaranteeing all contracts, Id have a new hobby to fill the hours of entertainment NFL gave me.
