AGH! My boss makes me so mad

Boo, are you looking for the same line of work? Have you registered with temp agencies such as Kelly Services and others that supply data entry workers?

No, I'm looking for something different. I do not in any way want to be in the retirement services industry. They hired me b/c of my experience with retirement services at Wachovia Securities. I am just doing this b/c it was offered to me and it gets me marketing experience on my resume. I took the job mainly b/c I though it would be more marketing oriented than it really is.

Yeah, I have interviewed with a lot of temp agencies in Charlotte, I would prefer something full time though.

How difficult would it be to start doing some of his work for him? Get him comfortable, take some of the stress off him, then take his job.

its hard to explain. I am trying very hard to take over the sales aspect of it since I deal with most of our prospective clients and I am a little more aesthetically pleasing (400 lb slobby looking guy with crumbs all over himself and not brushed hair vs. young blonde)

this is why I get $$ for the clients. the girl before me wasn't getting poo as far as commission goes.

the thing is, with the retirement plan proposals, he is a registered plan administrator and uses this special system we have to prepare plan proposals and then recommend to the clients what they need (401k plan, defined benefit plan, etc) so that part I cant really take over.

We have openings for a women sales person (yes only a women can get this position) in the beer world.

If you're serious I would totally apply. I talked to a lady from a liquor company a couple months back and she told me I would be great in the liquor industry as a rep with my personality.

I know how frustrating it is when you've got certain job responsibilities and not having all the company resources at your disposal. Deal with that every day. I probably spend more time trying to find the info I need than I do the work they ask of me because I don't have access to our databases. It's kind of a slap in the face and makes me work less hard because of it.

PS- I'd be careful about this thread, could get you fired, for real.

You do realize you aren't supposed to show up for work at a beer company drunk though right? :D

Sounds like a fun place to work...

Not much you can do sounds like other than try and deal with it... sucks that he's costing you $$$. Be careful how you deal with it... don't want to get a bad recommendation if you decide to change jobs or something...

Next time you talk to your corp boss, record his stupid ass so you'll have it on record.

App is called Audio Recorder

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
