AGH! My boss makes me so mad

I'd tend to disagree.

Any sales exec worth a crap will tell you the first step is just getting a foot in the door.

It helps when that foot is attached to a shapely leg.

Why would anyone give the time of day to a fat slovenly dude when the competition looks so much better?

It requires the attractive sales person to have the more rare gift of actually knowing how to sell and finalizing it that makes the difference.

Teh hotness just makes the door opening easier.

We had a lab sales show here last week. Think about research scientists around sales reps. It's great entertainment.

Ugh, I hate bosses that don't have college degrees. They should never promote those people. You spend $100,000 on an education and they get to be the boss because they got a head start in the work force before you. Then you start questioning why you went to college in the first place.

find another industry.

But, just having a degree doesnt mean much. Plenty of moron bosses with degrees.

if you go all out with a college degree I'm sure it's worth it..

but I'd venture to say 30%-40% (at least) are wasting away time and money..

or maybe... if you make over $70,000, perhaps it was worth all the student loans and a few easier doors to open..

unless you aren't an idea person and truly need a helping hand..

so very true.. not to mention the people who haven't made it to boss and haven't figured out how to think on their feet..

the education system is actually pretty fuged..

In my experience, the requirement for a degree depends on the level of managment. The group I work in is a mixture of people, some with four year degrees, while the others are mostly military veterans. Immediate supervisors don't necessarily need a degree and promotion to that level is based on ability. But a degree is almost an requirement to move into upper level managment. Its not a written rule, but I don't know anyone above supervisor that doesn't have a degree.

Of course, the folks that have the easiest path are the ones that have both a degree and experience, military or otherwise.

Your odds of not having a degree and making over $70k are much less than if you did.

As for wasting it, i think its what you make of it. Having a degree doesnt give you a fast track to success.

Result from boss' trip to corporate:

Mandatory from corporate that he now has to come in at 8 and work legit hours

Im now getting more commission for every client I bring in after looking at the results before and after I was hired. Hooray!!!

This makes things a little bit better :)

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
