Is there anyone that still cares about this season?

Just trying to get a handle on who is NOT apathetic at this point. Is there anyone left?

Nobody on the team cares, the owner doesn't care, the coaching staff doesn't care, no sense in caring about young players developing because the new coach will ship half of them out anyway and will have a new offense and defense for them to learn....what's the point of caring about the rest of the season?

I fell asleep during today's game for the first time since the Panthers had their asses handed to them late in 1998 by the Jets. The Panthers were bad, they were boring, and I saw no reason to care about what happened once Moore took the snap. Was I alone?

Serious question then Mr. Scot: WHY? If the people that get paid to care don't care, if even the owner doesn't care, then why would someone that doesn't get paid a dime care about how a team performs where half the players will be jettisoned in the offseason? Why should we care? Because of that Panthers logo?

Don't know if I really care but I've watched every game so far, and will probably watch the rest of them. To be honest I expected the Panthers to be bad this year. I saw what was going on in the offseason (letting Peppers go, not signing a good 2nd receiver, etc.) with the general youth movement and knew this would be a tough year. I think I predicted about 3 or 4 wins. We may not even get that. It's years like this that make the good years that much better.

I'd rather be us than the Cowboys though. With all the hype they had in the preseason their fans must be going apeshit.

Hell yeah I still care. My philosophy always has been and always will be...don't give up until you're mathematically eliminated.

Besides, there's always a chance that Jeff Davidson will grow a brain and learn to call the offense. And don't tell me that Fox is calling these plays, because he's not. There is not a chance in hell that Fox would call a flea flicker on the first play of the game.

Okay, so once we pick up loss #9 in a few weeks and we clinch a losing record, do you stop caring at that point?

To say the coaches dont care is crazy..

Most of these guy will be looking for a new job so they want to win. They are just not good at there job.

Let's say you're John Fox. You don't speak to the owner. You're handed a team that you have no say in creating that completely sucks. You know you're moving your family to another city in a few months no matter what happens.

Why would you be concerned about coaching well? John Fox could prepare his ass off and coach like no one has coached before and this team isn't making the playoffs. So what's the point?

Because I'm a fan, and it's what fans do.

(that, plus the notion that the owner and the players don't care is just silly)

The players do care (but will care less as the season goes on if we continue with just 1 win, Brentson Buckner has talked about this), but it's silly to believe Richardson DOES care. He has shown not one iota of caring towards this season. I can't think of one thing he has done that points to caring.

And blind fandom sounds all hardcore, but honestly, does it make any sense to care? Your argument for caring is basically: Because I do. Well, alrighty then. Jerry Richardson counts his billions of dollars off sheep and suckers like you. The team and ownership literally don't have to lift a finger towards winning this season and they're still not going to lose someone like you.

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
