Amateurs

Jeff Davidson called two trick plays that resulted in absolute disasters, a turnover on one while the other set up 3rd and 20. Also notice David Gettis was targeted I believe only once after a 2TD 100+ yard game that propelled us to victory a weak ago.

Ron Meeks saw the Rams come out early and settle for the underneath dink and dunk game plan. They did it early and often. They were still doing it when the game was decided. No adjustments to confront this. How about playing man to man or bringing in more corner backs? Seemed satisfied to hold Jackson from a big game while losing.

These guys are amateurs and so are the people who brought them in and keep them here.

The amateurs are the posters who think they know more than an NFL coordinator and point out what they believe is the solution to the offense or defense.

LOL.

In all fairness, Davidson is an idiot. The constant runs up the middle and screen passes fool no one.

In all fairness???? He is surely not an idiot and easily knows more about football than anyone posting here. Is he predictable, yes. Is his offense not very good right now?? Absolutely. But that hardly makes him an idiot. Calling him an idiot and suggesting that is a fair estimate is what is idiotic.

We've always failed at the trick plays, going back to before the Davidson and Meeks era.

That usually isn't playcalling so much as execution by the players. Other teams run similar plays with great success. The difference is their players execute better than we do. Plain and simple.

OK, let's inform Zod and delete the forum then. I can't criticize Dwayne Jarrett because surely he's a better WR than me, I can't criticize the coaches since they know more than me and I can't criticize the owner since, well, he's a billionaire and I'm not.

You're logic is absurd in this setting.

For the record, I know more about football than Davidson. I wish it were an opinion, but unfortunately it's a fact.

There is documented weekly posts from me dictating the game plan that actually won the Panthers a football game this season.

Last week they went back to Davidson's usual plan and looked exactly the same.

panthers55 tell us if you've taken your teeth out yet or if you're waiting until after your evening cup of sanka and stella d'oros

Tell me if you just got off work waiting tables while you finish your college degree. Maybe when you grow up and get a real job we can have an adult conversation.

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
