Clausen actually looked like a pro QB today

top dawg

The reason for that goes back to the answer for most our our failures.

John Fox. He doesent start acting like he wants to win until its too late.

This is why Delhomme was the comeback king, well that and he had Smitty in his prime and a damn good supporting cast

You are really putting that on Fox? Sure the playcalling all game might be bad but there is a direct correlation with being up 2 scores with about 2 mins left and giving up some completions. Just be real.

Blindly? Please join the discussion if you will but I've only provided facts.

Your facts are often wrong. Ergo, they are not facts. "Moore had a good game against STL." Fact? Nope.

"Clausen gave us no chance to win." Fact? Nope. If the D holds on a screen, Jimmy gets it at the 30 down 8. Which, if you didn't know, is a one-possession game. Now continue your "fact" spewing.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are arguably the best qb's in the game with 2 of the best offensive playcallers and O-lines.

Peyton 5 has completions of 40 yards or more this season and has attempted 386 passes. Perecentage for him equals 1 out of 77 passes go 40 more.

Brady has 4 after attempting 304 passes. Perecentage wise that equates to 1 out of every 76 passes are 40 or more yards

Clausen has 2 of 40 or more and has only attempted 138 passes, his equal a big play (40 or more yards) out of every 69 passes.

So right now Clausen is averaging a deep pass play more often than 2 of the greatest ever

And Clausen has had to deal with our b.s offensive playcalling and terrible o-line play.

The lines in Indy and NE really haven't been that great in recent years.

it ain't the 40 + yard balls you need to look at.....it is the 10-20 ones. Those are the downfield plays the great QBs destroy teams with.

Your original argument was that he doesent throw downfield enough. I difused that argument. 10-20 yard pass plays are generally slants/checkdowns. Clausen thrived at those yesterday putting the ball on the money.

"TheRealDeal" blindly hates Clausen folks, don't waste your time...

This right here. He passes his homerism off as "objective argument," when it's garbage.

Seriously TRD, your failure to do anything but criticize him shows the world how you're a blind hater.

Aww how cute you two can be friends.

I said he looked better, but in no way shape or form did he look good.

If I'm such a homer and I'm clueless, tell me why we had great field position, we won the turnover battle, we had a 100 yard rusher, and our QB couldn't put the ball in the endzone.

If he was so good how come we only had 1 drive over 50 yards (2 if you count the prevent/penalty aided drive)?

We complain about other rookies having advantages over us because they have a run game or they run short quick passes or whatever. We did that. Difference is, Bradfored completes more than 50% of his passes to make that type of offense work, our QB doesn't.

How often does Fox allow Clausen to throw in the redzone?

So you mean TD passes can only come from in the redzone? You just said Clausen is a big play machine, now I'm confused.

Never said Moore had a good game. I said he graded out pretty well in coaches eyes.

Don't blame the D. They forced turnovers and got us great field position. Clausen failed to capitalize.

Bradfords a good qb. He also benefits from having a good offensive coordinator as well.

If you take Bradford and insert him into our lineup, he'd probably be considered one of the biggest bust of the draft so far

Look. Jimmy was supposed to play well because he ran the same offense at ND supposedly. That was one of the main reasons we got him, a smooth transition. People complained that we don't do what the Rams do with Bradford and Clausen would do better in that scheme, short, quick throws, and we did that.

Clausen looked the same. He looks nothing like Bradford. So now that the argument of short quick throws has failed you want to compare Bradford being here? Next argument please.

Don't blame the D? Are you serious? Things like that are why I laugh at what you say. They couldn't stop a screen on 3rd and 15 and gave up a 45 yard TD run on 3rd and 12 when everybody in Tampa knew a draw from the gun was coming, and they were pushed around like babies! If they made a stop we could have tied it. Not saying we would have but we were in position. THEN if Clausen threw bad passes I'd say he hurt us. But we won't know.

Yes the defense didn't play their best, but they gave Clausen plenty of chances, what makes you think he would magically score a TD on the last one they gave him?

He had the ball how many times on their side of the field TO START?

How many drives did he put together?

if clausen had done more than complete 2 passes all day then maybe the defense wouldn't have been in that position to keep clausen from being in a position to show what he really is: terrible

causality arguments are fun

More than any other QB we've had. It isn't just the QB though man. It's the line too. False starts aren't his fault, well maybe to you they are. Holding penalties aren't his fault nor are passes that bounce off a guy's hands. How many times did we have 3rd and long because the run was stuffed or he had to throw it away to keep from getting sacked because someone came in unblocked? Look at the whole picture.
