MNF - Vick vs. McNabb pt.II

I will never justify what he did, but that said he did his time and has proven thus far to be an upstanding citizen and has revitalized his career. I believe in second chances and thus far Vick has made the most of his. Until he proves me otherwise I don't have any problem supporting him

I agree with your statement except the supporting him part... he does deserve a second chance and he's making the most of it, but I don't have to like him to enjoy watching him play. He was a Falcon... I can't like him.

Like I said, I hope he uses a bit of the fat contact he is about to get to save the lives of some animals and help end dog fighting. If/When he does that, the haters really should gtfo.

He might learn how to play the PR game. Hope he does and that some animals will benefit from it. But the kind of dark character that it takes to do what he did for fun is too much too support, no matter how well he plays the PR or NFL game.

People who abuse are abusers.

Its pretty pathetic that many people, many of whom consider themselves Christian, arent able to get over something that Vick has been punished for and lost his entire fortune for, has shown remorse for at every turn, has gone out of his way to speak to kids about and advise them on the dangers of, etc etc--all of which is well documented and easily found if you can operate a personal computer.

Vick is what happens when you actually give someone a second chance--good thing some of these same clowns who would "never" support our team if Vick was on it, dont actually run anything associated with the NFL, or anything else important for that matter.

Also, looks like the Skins aren't dead.

He's been involved in that since he got out. Id like to see PETA and Animal Rights groups to stop using his name at this point. They've exploited Vick long enough. There are other people who are out there that are still involved in dog fighting that should be bigger targets for those groups rather than someone who's been convicted and done his time already.

Fair argument.

But I don't think you can ever "clear your name" enough.

That said players like Rapemoreburger got off way too easy for his issues and should be doing similar things.

Leonard Little/Stallworth should also be using their status and cash to spread word to stop their crimes from occurring.

As for PETA, they don't really want to save animals, they are just exploiting peoples emotions to gain money. Most activist groups are like this.

I lean more to the notion we will never know what all he personally did.

Also can't deny that his environment as a child encouraged such.

But sooner or later a person can wash the blood off their hands.

None of that stuff matters. Those folks will always opt to look down on him. Ive been on this website since 2004. They hated Vick before all of that, the charges and jail time just validated their hate. There's nothing they hate more than a person like Vick, nothing.

Vick is a feel good story. He's a hero to young people and a hero to his community. The way he's turning his life around should be applauded. The Carolina Panthers would be lucky to have a talent like him at quarterback. The thing is, Vick probably wouldnt play for a losing franchise like ours. He probably feels he's above all that and deserves better. I think he's right.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
