panthers sign jeremiah johnson

Recommended Posts

per stewart and reed on twitter...

Reunited with Jeremiah Johnson he's a panther now

Might have forget to mention this on a busy news day yesterday, but RB Jeremiah Johnson was added to the practice squad.

rotoworld...

Panthers signed RB Jeremiah Johnson to their practice squad.

Johnson is an interesting talent, and he's resurfaced in an intriguing situation for the second time in a month. Should Jonathan Stewart's concussion continue to keep him sidelined, Johnson could get a look in December.

interesting indeed...

Johnson was "the other guy" when Stewart was beasting at Oregon, but he was still a pretty productive back there. He was a bit more shifty then Stew back at Oregon but he also was a good bit lighter to. He was the Ducks change of pace back usually good for 2 or so BIG runs a game. He also played FB in some 2 RB sets for Oregon with both him and Stew on the field. He was used sparingly while Stew was there but the year after Stew got drafted he did rush for 1200 on 168 carries (7.15 average).

Some youtubes of him....

so who thinks something is going on with Stew with the Panthers signing yet another Runningback? Not talking about trading him or anything but maybe IR? Vaughn was brought in a week right before DWill was put on IR... just an odd occurance...

it's possible...

...but then again, it could be because there is zero depth at the position right now.

My guess is, we will probably only throw the ball like 5 times this week and most likely the Ravens will end up killing at least one of RBs, they just need bodies to throw to the slaughter.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
