Steelers Crying on Thanksgiving

"Steelers receiver Antwaan Randle El told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Seymour's punishment would have been stiffer if he had hit Tom Brady or Peyton Manning."

STFU Randle El, you nothing of which you speak.

"The Post-Gazette reported Thursday that Ward said on his local radio show Tuesday that Seymour would have been suspended if he had struck either Brady or Manning."

You, too, Hines.

Roethlisberger, asked if the ruling would have been different if his name were different, was frank in his response. "We all know the answer to that one. Easy," Roethlisberger told the Post-Gazette.

Let's see, considering how you've treated young women, I'd say a little slap is nothing to complain about, you lumpy POS.

I have officially lost all respect for this team. But this is the organization Jerry Richardson wants to emulate....

The whole thing was BS. And I don't care about Roethlisberger past, ya know since he's white and all...:P But they are fining players 50k - 75k for illegal hits on players, but the hits are almost second nature for these guys and will take time to stop them. This was intentional and he should have been fined more.

I don't think so:

Albert Haynesworth 10/29/2010 $7500 "For striking Bears offensive lineman J'Marcus Webb away from the play during teammate DeAngelo Hall's 92-yard touchdown run with an interception."

Cortland Finnegan 10/8/2010 $10,000 "Unnecessary roughness. Hit Broncos guard Chris Kuper after Kuper's helmet was off. The league warned Finnegan that similar infractions in the future can lead to increased discipline."

Michael Oher 10/1/2010 $5000 "Punched Browns defensive end Robaire Smith after Smith shoved Baltimore tight end Todd Heap following a whistle that had stopped play for a false start."

Sorry, replying to Mr.Scot's response of the Steeler players "probably being right."

Here's another...

Head Coach John Harbaugh 9/21/2010 $15,000:

"Impermissible verbal and physical contact with an official. Made contact with line judge Ron Marinucci in the chest while demonstrating where outside linebacker Terrell Suggs hit Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer during a questionable roughing-the-passer penalty."

If a head coach can go out and essentially do the equivalent of chesting up an umpire in baseball while cursing him out, on the field of play and get $15k, I don't think Seymour's fine is too lenient.

You don't think so what?

http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2010/10/19/1762057/james-harrison-fined-75000-for-helmet-to-helmet-hits-against-browns

James Harrison (Pittsburgh): $75k

Brandon Merriweather (New England): $50k

Dunta Robinson (Atlanta): $50k

The fines you've listed are all in-game, during-the-play hits on players making plays. All of the fines I listed were for punches being tossed- you see the difference.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
