i think you forgot the part where the team started to not win games, which just happened right before all this alleged "intelligent debate" stopped. I survived all them new folks coming in and bringing heat because i'm not so new. Or maybe that isn't so true after all

and as far as i'm concerned i never had a problem with F77 or Greg. I respected them, because they respected me. I only retaliated after Mintal's continual harassment on me over being too negative, and P55's passive aggressive digs he likes to put in after he's been debating with one other person in a thread for 15 pages. Ok those are two vets i guess you could say who bring/brought some heat. Monkeybutt, I don't remember why she left, but i don't remember anybody attacking her unless you've got irrefutable proof of that. J-Vic was another volatile poster who isn't here anymore if you want to keep score good buddy.

yea, duh.

boy would this post have been a diamond bullet if i had actually stopped posting at that time, which i hadn't

i didn't get out of the kitchen, i just stopped cooking and drank some gatorade

"Going Away" threads? Really? Really?!

Anyways, I'm glad you did stick around. I like the way you think. Just don't give up again.

it certainly wasn't my intent but i guess i kinda shaped it that way. i just could've went in some other thread and said i didn't want to complain anymore

i could look up rocknrolla's posting from a year ago and find real contradictions but meh

2005 offseason was the highpoint for me for regarding levels of posters.

Most of them rarely post anymore on the football side. Too many whiners and Emo Panther fans that know nothing about football.

The great dynamic of this board during that 2005 offseason was the reason I signed up for a user name and started posting regularly in the first place.

So I guess you could say that it was a wash.

I know more than a few posters who left the board entirely because the tone became not only more negative, but openly hostile. And I knew a few who just quit the football forums for the same reason.

Oh lawd someone is attacking me on the interwebz I need to Cowher in fear!

Just know I will never leave.

:(

Raging Bull is basically a cheap Chinese knock off of Fiz.

Damn, you nailed it.

If you've been here as long as I have, you know it's a constantly revolving cast. People come and people go. It's the way it has always been. This board is not for everybody, and that has been a constant. Eventually somebody will get pissed at something. It doesn't agree with everyone.

But the same people who poor mouth the board are still lurkers and just can't stay away from the board entirely. Traffic counts don't lie.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
