First off you are almost certainly mentally handicapped.

Age is a factor Williams will be 28 at the start of next season very close to the terrible "30" that backs hit... Stewart and Goodson will both be just 24.

...and we still have 28 under his rookie contract for a few more years, while 34 will be a highly sought after FA.

Goodson has been epic over these last 3 games and Stewart showed up today... doesn't bode well for DeAngelo :(

I dont see how it doesn't bode well for DeAngelo. He's faced tougher defenses and gotten over 4 yards per carry while Stewart has been under 3 the whole year until today against the Browns. If anything it just helps Stewart's trade stock.

Tag Willams and trade him.

You're assuming DWill will sign his FT contract. Did you see what happened with Julius Peppers the last 2 off seasons?

The smarter play might be trading Jonathon Stewart (assuming someone is crazy enough to give us at least a 2nd for him) and re-sign DWill.

No matter what, we can't let DWill walk without value back at us.

Talent leaves all the time in the NFL KG.

True, but you can be clever like the Patriots and Richard Seymour and have that talent leave on your own terms. Trade to the Raiders for a future #1 while he's still under contract.

Moral of the story?

The Pats have a #1 draft pick inbound.

The Raiders?

Well they had to Franchise Seymour to keep him and find themselves in a Julius Peppers situation.

Be proactive, not reactive.

DWill is a special talent, do what is necessary to keep him or get compensation.

I agree with your logic, but such things seem to be exceptions to the rule.

we cant let dwill go without anything. I like the trio of Stewart, Goodson, and sutton but would love instead to see Deangelo, Goodson, and Sutton and trade Stewart for a 2nd rounder or even a third round pick.

Just cant keep losing players without any compensation. Kills your franchise.

sutton is your third back in a williams, goodson, sutton trio. I am sold on Goodson. He still has potential fumble issues but the guy has been solid. Could def carry the load as the 2nd TB in a two TB system. The question is what to do about Williams and Stewart. Which one leaves. I have a feeling its Williams and we get 0 for him. Thats the fear. Franchise the guy and get a long term deal with him and trade Stewart for an extra pick in the third round to take OL or DT.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
