What the hell are the Panthers doing?

About the coaching staff?

So you have essentially the entire side of the defensive coaching staff either blown out, not rehired or whatever reason you believe they're gone.

Turgo had been gone 5 days now, other assistants longer and not a single move from the Panthers. Only misguided theories from the press.

So are the Panthers just taking their time? Good assistants are getting snatched up left and right by other organizations. The pool is only getting more diluted.

Or perhaps the Panthers have a DC in mind from one of the Super Bowl teams and are waiting for him to come free and then will populate the rest of the defensive staff once the new DC is in place.

Or maybe they have a new Head Coach in mind on one of the Super Bowl teams and are only going to retain the offensive coaching staff under the new regime.

What's your theory on the Panthers total lack of movement?

And for the record I hope you are right about hiring someone else to run this team. Fox has maxed out what he is going to do with this team unless he is willing to start grooming another QB. If we hired Haley, Cowher, or any other coach without a Jake allegiance I guarantee we would see a highly draft QB either this year or next...

I'm getting really tired of hearing people getting an erection for Cowher. In a way I hope they would hire him to prove to all of you that he will be a disaster. 5 weeks into the season the same people will be calling for his head, and the Panthers would expereience Siefert 3.0. Cowher will not be successful again.

You guys better hope not.

Considering the FO has gone into bunker mode.

People are flat out walking the fug out the door.

And NO one is saying anything about anyone coming in.

I think there may be truth to what Squirrel said.

I agree, I hope it isn't the case.

    • One thing about it, he's not thinking about retiring. I found it odd that some Huddlers were taking rumors and running with them, imagining a slow down and "up-playing" injuries. Moton feels great and is still in his prime according to him, and his game is still indicative of his thoughts.  Sure, it may ultimately come down to economics, but I am sure that everyone involved is motivated to keep him in Charlotte.
    • I think the knee stuff with Moton has been blown way out of proportion. The exact quote was “It’s chronic stuff. Most linemen deal with it. But it’s just figuring out what we can do to make sure it’s limited and I’m still able to explode off it, which right now I can and I feel like I can in the future,” After a while, you start learning more about it and what can we do to make sure it’s as little of an issue as possible. I feel like I’m moving like I was when I was younger.” I don't view that as a guy who's saying his knees are on their last leg I see that as a 10-year NFL olineman saying that obviously after 10 years of playing a really physical sport, he's never truly gonna be 100% healthy again and he's gonna need to spend more time with the training staff to ensure his body can continue to perform at a high level. I think Moton has another 3 to 5 years left if he wants to continue playing.
    • So much crying. Tiresome. All of you should have had enough time to come to terms with the team picking up his 5th year...
