Davis really gave us that "keep pounding" mantra in that we just wore down teams that year and foster was a wonderful compliment. Watching him make plays in 03 was magical.

Davis/Foster got us to the superbowl so I guess I'd have to go with them.

Double Trouble is far more talented and fun to watch but right now it's just a tragedy since they're on such a crappy team.

I feel bad for some of the fans that came in at the tail end of Deshaun's run here, that guy was truly an amazing change of pace back. Him and Davis were an absolute force to be reckoned with in '03. I remember when Fos came in against the Colts and absolutely took over that game that year.

no mention of foster/williams?

I'll mention them in the fact that the coaching staff just let DeShaun Foster flop around like a fish out of water while holding Williams back...

I love Foster/Davis in '03 but overall Stewart and Williams really dominated games.

I would. Foster is a much better running back on 3rd downs and when used in a passing offense.

It's true that Foster only started struggling once Fox tried to make him a power back (something D'lo would've been more suited for anyways ironically enough) but Davis in his prime was a monster, he'd run over absolutely anybody. He even did it here. He had so many long runs here because as soon as he got past the DL, there were very few LB's, S's, and CB's who could tackle him 1 on 1. He may not have had breakaway speed once he got there, but in a way I think that benefited us, because with him constantly breaking away for 30 and 40 yard runs, instead of 70 and for a TD, it allowed us to keep possession of the ball and control the clock which we like to do oh so much.

We never really got to see what Foster was capable of. Injuries destroyed him. Plus, didn't tear his ACL or something like that his rookie year?

I think that's what happened, but the best memory of Foster his rookie year was him taking his first career touch for a long rushing TD (although it was preseason..)

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
