Feeling very alone on an island right now. Friends, co-workers, neighbors all make fun of me and the Panthers as they root for whomever.

I see no one wearing panther gear in Raleigh. All kinds of ravens, steelers, cowboys and skins fans. I saw ONE guy with a Panther hat at Crazy Fire the other night - wanted to high five five him.

The Huddle. Seems most people are concerned with next year and the draft. I haven't even looked 'Luck' up but to wonder why if this guy Cam (who seems like a thug) is going to win the Heisman why we wouldnt want him, followed by the uncertainty of labor negotiations - seems highly doubtful this Luck guy would even come out and even if I did I haven't given up on Clausen. I wish he wouldnt stare at the WR he is going to throw to and im sick to death of check-downs..but that can be learned / un-learned. I just dont think he can throw the deep throw...every one 'deep' seems to be this freaking lob. It would irk me if we just give up on him and the draft pick he cost us.

But back to being a discouraged fan. I swear I am like the only person rooting for the Panthers. I can understand fair weather fans in women, but wtf..even here on the Huddle?

Is it wrong to call out a 'fan' who thinks losing, at any time, no matter the situation...NOT a fan??

I guess ive gotten used to the jabs since i live in tx. Gotta represent your team man, no matter what. At least the cowboys fans are somewhat subdued this year. That will change now since they have managed to win a few, im sure.

Panther gear is always a guaranteed way to get some poo slinging in a bar around here.

What? A thug? People throw around that word very loosely around here.

Anyways, stop worrying about other people and rep your team. We all get made fun of man. Hopefully, we can become a dominant team in the future(I know most of you feel JR has put us in "good position" to do that anyways ), and you can return the favor and make fun of and talk smack back.

I catch the occasional hurp durp Panthers sure do suck this year at work from the various Redskins/Cowboys chumps that have business in my area. I usually hurp durp them back and don't care because I've been through shitty seasons before as a Panthers fan and I'm just taking things as they come.

There was a Packers fan who used to work with me who was actually from Wisconsin and he picked on one of the more annoying Redskins fans about how he had actually been to Lambeau and seen his team in person. He had absolutely nothing to say to that. Piece of advice: those kinds of people are mean poo until you point out that they've only seen their team on TV. Also grow some thicker skin because this won't be the last shitty Panthers season in your lifetime.

    • He is also a player that has that "lock room cancer" tag.  We don't see much of the full picture, but I try to stay far away from that type of player. He is historically not good at losing, and we tend to do that a good bit. Not a good fit in my opinion.  I respect the skill, though.
    • I honestly can't think of a teams first line basically telling the coach to fug off like last night's line of Aho, Jarvis and Svechnikov did to Rod.
    • Do you even know what the term "below average" means? Because I'm genuinely not sure if you do. There are 32 QB's in the league, which means to be playing "above average" he'd have to be the 15th best QB at the league, and even then, that's in essence the "average NFL QB" still. Even going by these rankings, which have him 20th, that by itself is the definition of "below average", and that's before you consider there are multiple QB's ranked below him in this list that I'd 100% trade him for in a heartbeat. Again, no matter what you think the eye test tells you, he's made 28 starts and has a grand total of FOUR games over 247 yards.  Drake Maye has made 10 starts, all with a significantly worse group of pass catchers than Bryce has had, and he already has 3 games over that number himself. I don't need to see or know anything else beyond that to determine he is a below average QB in this league so far and I don't know how anyone can honestly argue against that.  If he was a Lamar Jackson type putting up 75+ yards rushing on a consistent basis, then you can look at those passing yards differently, but that's not the case here. Could he still improve and get to average or better?  Of course. But you're trying to extrapolate a few throws/drives/moments from a handful of games and trying to say that makes him even an average, if not above average, QB in this league.  Which is just nonsense when the players you're comparing him to have played at that level for full seasons or their entire careers.
