If Luck doesn't come out, Fairley is our guy?

Yeah if there's no Luck trade down.

Plus Fairley is a dirty player, who knows if our organization will draft someone like that.

And do we really need a WR in the first round. As much as I love AJ Green, our rookie WRs have done well considering the situation they have been put in.

I'm hoping to solve most of our problems with a great free agency period. Since we have money to spend, our first target should be Logan Mankins. It is assured he will be a free agent after this season, so he should be easy to bring in if we through good money his way.

Another guy I'm looking at is Nnamdi Asomugha. He won't be easy to convince to come here, but giving him a sizeable contract shouldn't be a problem either. The harder we hit the free agent market, the more convincing we could be to him as a contender.

McNabb looks to be a lock to come out of Washington, but I don't know if he would come here to compete for a job at QB. (Especially if we draft Luck or trade down and draft another QB aka Ryan Mallett.):D So we look at either bringing in McNabb or Kyle Orton if he comes out. Those are really the only two QBs I like as a veteran QB coming in.

Now who I'm mentioning now is a big stretch to become a free agent, but his team could possibly tag him, making him possible trade bait. This guy, Haloti Ngata would be a big pick up if we got him. He is better the Jenkins, not just a guy that can take up space in the run game but can also pressure the QB with consistency.

So if we could get Mankins, Asomugha, McNabb or Orton, and Haloti Ngata, our only draft concern would be a franchise QB. The GM that can bring these guys together needs to be considered for the Hall of Fame.

Yep, it is a dream, but if things were to play out right, it could happen.

It is likely the Ravens will tag Haloti Ngata if they can't agree to terms on a new contract. If that happens, we could possibly trade for him. Nnamdi can opt out of his contract and essentially become a free agent himelf, so he has the choice of choosing his team. We could have a chance at convincing him if we have Ngata, Mankins, and a vet QB on the roster. Plus Charlotte is a nice place to live, not alot of press following you around here. And money is no concern for us!:D Hurney, I hope you are taking notes.

We'll end up trading down even if Luck comes out. Seriously, you think JR is going to pay Luck 50million guaranteed, cuz thats what it's going to take?

Trade down, and make damn sure you get 1 of these 3 guys. Patrick Peterson, AJ Green, or Nick Fairly.

    • Agreed.  Unless a DE is a Julius Peppers type, it takes a couple of years to really develope.  I am hoping we can get one to go with Prince and Scourton.  Or another Interior Dlineman might work as well.
    • Great work Dan. This is the first time in a long time heading into day 1 of the draft that I don’t care which way we go.
    • I don't think it's about Bryce's ego. I think it's about Tepper's. Bryce was Tepper's draft pick. Everything that's been done has been to protect the image.  New HC with a shiny contract fired after he loses interest immediately after he supposedly drafted his guy. He can't make an offense for him because he's the QB that fits his style of offense. Bryce's rookie season is one of the worst in history. It was obvious he wasn't ready. He was named starter without any real camp competition. No real preseason reps. Coach keeps playing him despite terrible play.  A new coach and GM are hired on the condition that Bryce is the guy. No searching for a new QB. It's Bryce or else.  Bryce is benched year 2 for multiple games, replaced by Dalton who stunk it up proving he's washed up, then Bryce comes back in after Dalton injures his thumb and finishes the season. Dalton's contract is up, plenty of younger, higher upside FAs available. Dalton is brought back 2 years guaranteed as a "mentor". Jack Plummer, so bad in 24', brought back to camp in 25' and lo and behold, he's still terrible and has no business being on a field.  Other QBs brought in, the most recognizable being Hooker. All those brought in so bad even the PS can't hold them.  And now, after 3 years of bottom tier QB performance, with Dan saying we need to improve our QB room, we bring in a QB that's not passed for over 2500 yards in either of his 2 seasons as a starter, before he's benched and sent to the life of being a backup.  The common denominator in all of this is there's never been any real competition here, even when it was justified. After last year, it's debatable if he's starting QB material. Good moments and horrific moments. From one minute to the next, you don't know what you're gonna get.  So if you ask yourself why some of us feel bringing in KP is a joke, it's because it looks how it's always looked. That everything being done is to prove that David Tepper was right when he made the choice to draft Bryce and everything done since has been to protect that decision. Bringing in another QB with even the potential to challenge Bryce was always out of the question.
