Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports Paul Silas is the leader to replace Brown, but Magic assistant coach Patrick Ewing and former Hawks coach Mike Woodson are under consideration as well

I liked Silas when he was the Hornets coach, might not be a bad hire.

I bet it will be Patrick Ewing. That sounds like more of a Jordan hire. Besides Silas was good only when he was coaching the Charlotte Hornets, he was garbage every other city he was head coach in.

I'm not wild about the thought of a guy who has never been head coach taking over this team. Ewing is a big unknown and I think we need guy who has been a coach before.

As Charlotte's discussions stand now with Paul Silas, he would take over as coach for the balance of the regular season, sources tell Y!

Is it the norm for an interim coach to come from outside the current staff? Isn't an asst. typically given interim duty?

The whole coaching staff left with LB. Don't know if they were fired as well, but honestly I think they were just his "boys" so MJ didn't want them around anymore anyway.

They're saying over at BP that Charles Oakley is a strong possibility as an asst. under Silas right now as well. Watch him become our next head coach, lol.

    • No PFF grades up yet but the all-22 is up. Just watched the first passing play (Q1 6:45) from 3rd & 2 on the CAR 37 where Bryce scrambled for the first. Dowdle whiffed going low on the blitzing Oluokun, which forced Bryce to scramble. If not for that, that ball was going to XL on a corner route that he'd have been open. Concerning though that Bryce looked like he was staring the route down (which he definitely did on the first INT of the day). This doesn't absolve Bryce as he made several flat out bad plays throughout the game. Also rather damning is that of the 40 drop backs, according to the filters there was pressure on 16 vs. 24 w/o pressure... though I'm questioning the validity of the early filters because the very first play I mentioned is flagged as "no pressure" when there's very clearly pressure. The first INT was a bad play by Bryce. He thought Murray had started dropping deep to cover Brycen Tremayne, but Murray read Bryce's eyes the whole time which stayed on XL. Murray "broke the rule" here and made a play, but he also wouldn't have made that play had Bryce not been staring XL down for most of the route.   Might not get an all-22 review post up until later in the week. I've got a conference next week that I'm prepping for and the family is still reeling from one of our pets passing over the weekend.
    • We're just bad. Canales is not a good coach. Morgan is not a good GM. Young is not a good quarterback.  We haven't drafted well in a long time. All this stuff adds up. And now we're in a situation where no matter who we hire they're going to be starting at a negative because they're going to have to draft good talent and fill the entire team up.  I don't know guys I think we could be bad for a long time.
    • So true.  I would love to have Jim, Dan, or Sean here.  So sick of stinking it up for the first 8 games and then fixing things just to make sure we dont have a top draft pick so we have to trade the farm if we want a top pick.
