What if...

John Fox gets a gig as defensive coordinator next season with his buddy Sean Payton?

Not gonna happen. Payton just brought in Greg Williams and they went to a Superbowl.....D being a main reason for that ring. In addition to that, Payton literally gave Williams part of his paycheck b/c he wanted him.

I wouldn't mind it. They don't exactly have a dominant defensive line, and their success has been related to Williams' creative blitzes etc.

Fox will be a solid hire wherever he goes, but that doesn't mean he'll excel everywhere.

True, but wouldn't you hate seeing him in the division? He knows the shortcuts when it comes to defending the Panthers.

he knows the shortcuts to defend a team that will cease to be the one he knows the second a new coach is hired.

oh the horror.

Fox is going to be a HC somewhere no question. I could see him in New York or Cleveland or really anywhere. He could do well in SF too

Coaches with better resumes than Fox haven't been able to find HC gigs right away.....some never again.

I'd be shocked if he got a HC gig in 2011. Fox is best suited to be a DC. More people than just Carolian fans realize this guy shouldn't have his finger on an offense.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
