was the armanti edwards trade the worst in franchise history?

Sean Gilbert trade was terrible, but we got 4 seasons out of him and he had a decent '98 season with 53 tackles and 6 sacks. Players that came close to that productivity this season have been praised as Pro Bowl-caliber by the Huddle.

Armanti Edwards will never have the productivity that Sean Gilbert had. We gave up more for Gilbert, but at least there was SOMETHING there. Armanti Edwards will never sniff the field as an every-down player at either receiver or quarterback. So it's not as cut-and-dry as you think with Gilbert vs. Edwards.

Could be, but I'll wait to pass judgment until he's played out his rookie contract. Let's get an offensive minded coach that can utilize AE and allow the kid to see the damn field to start.

Agree. Would like to see what a better coach can do with him before we judge his draft value.

We gave up two first round picks and paid him a lot of cash. For Edwards, we gave up a second. Two first rounders means more than one second round even if Armanti never plays another down imo. And I don't agree that its a certainity he will never see the field. With better pass oriented coaching, he might. He certainly has the speed.

It's not just a "second". We gave up a 33rd overall pick (which analysts keep saying more and more is treated like a 1st rounder) for a mid-3rd round pick.

Yeah, but the two picks we gave up WERE first rounders. Very high ones at that. Also we didn't have to pay him 46 million dollars. I don't see how you can think this is close.

giving up the 33rd overall pick is better than giving up 2 first round picks because the incredibly bad to mediocre player we received in return was physically present on the field at times.

you're the most boring troll on this site and that speaks volumes.
