any more Luck/Harbaugh skeptics?

i'm not even sure having harbaugh here alongside Luck would be the absolute best scenario, and frankly haven't been reading this thread because the god damn pages are so short, but we can't go wrong with Luck.

Luck leaves Clausens leadership skills in the aspergers spectrum.

Skillset, of course blows him out of the water as well.

It would be like a new heart for the franchise and possibly JR's 2nd new heart.

I think the most intriguing thing is a Coach being able to mold a QB in college and then bring him into the NFL and continue that molding. Has that ever happened before?

Not that I can remember.

If there's been a "package deal" like this in my lifetime, I missed it.

then why are you even posting about it?

hey guys nagai wants us all to know he doesn't know

he's also probably just someone trying to get to the post minimum so he can start spamming dick pills threads.

Ummm no . I've been around for years, check my history, if I wanted to do that I would've done it ages ago. I'm posting it because I hate how drafting Luck has become something people almost take for granted. It's Luck or bust. I make a simple, modest claim and I get multiple raised eyebrows, don't you think there's something wrong with that? I'm quite offended by your post, because truth be told, I only come to the huddle for the draft every year. The reason I don't stay for longer is because of bigotry like this.

Even after we get them both (assuming the best case and we do) there's another brand new set of breath holders to start. How will they look in the early workouts? Will Luck transition well to the NFL? Will Harbaugh?

I'm going to be blue in the face from held breath until regular season game 1 is underway and there's something to look at methinks.

For the record I think both will work out - but I'm a worrier.

I'm skeptical of Harbaugh as an NFL coach. College coaches when jumping to the pros haven't been successful all that often. The only exception to that rule is Jimmie Johnson. He lacks the temperament of an NFL coach which makes me question how he would respond to adversity which is sure to come in the NFL. Coaching in the NFL as opposed to college football are vastly different creatures. He has done a pretty remarkable job coaching Luck because he's very polished but that's not the only thing to coaching in the NFL. Coaching in the NFL is being adept at coaching game situations and there was nothing in that game tonight that proves he would be successful at that.

Luck will be a great NFL QB I think. There were 2 bad decisions he made tonight. The interception by the DB was a great play by the VT DB. It appeared Luck learned from that and didn't challenge him the rest of the night which the great QB's of this league do. Jaws always said he had total command of the offense to the run game and the pass game. He has Photographic memory based on what the MNF crew said which leads me to believe that when he studies the playbook of an NFL offense and sees the design of plays, boom it will be there in his head. He showed he can avoid the rush when he was in the pocket. He showed he could go through his progressions. That throw right around the endzone was just remarkable. With all that said, That might not translate to instant success at the NFL level which is why good coaching is necessary and Hurney needs to find the right players around him to win a Superbowl. Peyton Manning isn't good enough by himself to win a Superbowl. Great players don't win championships, Great teams do.

How many QBs do succeed when the other team can get consistent pressure?

Luck didn't look any different to me than he did the other times I've seen him play.

Likewise, I've seen guys like Brady, Manning and Brees make big mistakes under similar circumstances.

People shouldn't be looking for perfection. That's what "highlight reel" scouting gets you (unrealistic expectations).

I'm not looking for perfection just saying what I saw. It seems like he broke from the plays too early with heavy pressure, as in he gets uncomfortable easier than your average QB. Like if he detects the blitz he immediately decides to improvise.

It's only one game if he threw 5 INTs it wouldn't mean more if he threw 5 tds.

Only game I've seen so I'm not basing that opinion on much. This is barbershop level of speculation.
