Is the QB the only thing anyone cares about anymore?

Like others have said, we have this conversation every year because we don't have a Franchise QB.

Why do you think the Colts have made the playoffs for the last 9 years, with an often crap defense, or even when so riddled with injuries? Peyton Manning. Take Manning away and make them an "all over solid team with a decent QB" do you think they're the same consistent winner?

It's a QB driven league, and we either get with it, or keep getting left out in the cold watching other teams that have a Franchise QB and wondering why we can't get to that level. I'm sick of that. I'm sick of getting angry watching our offense, and I'm even sicker of watching other teams with a much more modern offense.

Yes, Ryan's game is flawless. I apologize for not admitting his greatness earlier. He's so ice cold it should be illegal. Putting up those 7 points at home against the Saints to clinch home field was epic. That game winning drive to solidify his "Matty Ice" nickname was a thing of beauty. My God enshrine this man now.

So I guess Matt Ryan had nothing at all to do with Falcons being the number 1 overall seed in the NFC for the playoffs or has nothing to do with the Falcons being a good team the last few years. And I'm still waiting on you to show me some flaws in his game... Oh right, there are none.

You can't give an example of the best ever and expect it to happen repeatedly. You can't expect the next Manning or the next Brady. Those are the only two that have done it without much help. NO ONE ELSE can do what they do with what they have.

You are taking a very simple minded approach.

Falcons = #1 Seed

Matt Ryan = QB Falcons

Matt Ryan = Elite QB

You need to look more in depth at each game and things of that nature. Turner has been one of the most underappreciated backs in the NFL and when he doesn't get off, Ryan struggles. Someone posted an analysis of this maybe two months ago and when Turner struggled, Ryan's numbers were significantly down.

The most recent example was against New Orleans in their house. They shut Turner down and Ryan had Jimmy Clausen-esque numbers. That's just one example and there are many many more.

It was funny before that game Steve Young and that crew were calling him the next Brady and then after the game they were talking about how important the run game is.

Well it's not hard to come to that assumption if you look at the first 5 pages on this forum at the moment. There's just way too much focus on QBs.

Its considered the most important and glamorous position for a reason.

How can you say Brady or Manning didn't have any help? Manning had a trio of superb WRs for years and Brady's O-line stops time for him to throw. Seriously, it's like the defense moves in slow motion when that pocket forms around Brady.

You don't need to see more proof than when Matt Cassel substituted in for Brady and the Patriots still finished 11-5!!!
