Why this was so Deflating is because we have the Peyton Manning example right in front of us. Look at Colts post-Manning, and that is in theory what the Panthers were setup to turn into. Instead, we are in the NFC South against a young Matt Ryan and Josh Freeman plus Drew Brees.

We are looking at Last place in NFC South for years to come. Watch next year, we end up with pick #2-5ish and watch some other team like Bills draft Luck instead

don't count him as a number one draft pick next year look at Locker,,, he was #1 qb LAST YEAR.. hE HAD A CRAPPY YEAR VALUE DROPPED!! Luck has a crappy season or gets hurt.. he might not be the guy. he good be the Ryan Leaf.. hell who knows?? Brady a 6th Rounder..holy crap!!! Who would have thunk it!!

PS.. I am still a little bitter too. if you couldnt tell!!

We are probably still going to be the favorite for #1 next year was well. We have hardest strength of schedule for next year. Doubling our wins still put us at 4-12. Not to mention if season shortened due to lockout. Keep the faith :D

When Luck comes out next year, joins some NFL team with the #1 pick, and becomes that teams next Peyton Manning. That will leave a bad taste in my mouth for a long time.......................

Ok im done ranting....

I googled "bad taste in mouth" to post some funny pic. I come across these two gems! :smilielol5:

We had the 2nd weakest this year before the season started.

Strength of schedule is a worthless measure before the season even starts.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
