so instead of trying to improve the weakness that actually causes us to lose games, you want to ignore it just to pitch a fit about our bad QB?

grow some balls and work on the real weakness and win some games. it's not going to happen if we ignore the problem and draft retarded D-Linemen while we have the worst offense in the league. that's something the Raiders would do.

Rivera fielded the top defense last year with some scrub 5th round DT. it's not that important of a position.

we can get a QB in the form of Orton.. if we make that happen then the "who's going to throw to our WRs" goes right out the window..

because then we have a very efficient passer who will have 4 legit weapons and a solid running game.. the offense will open up so much more than not drafting Green and expecting an older Smitty and Gettis/LaFell who aren't legit threats yet, if they will be anything more than solid #2..

I'm not sure how people think we desperately need a DT (which we can get in FA) when we just fielded a 12th ranked defense who was on the field longer than any other defense..

are you all conveniently forgetting that if we improve our offense, our defense has a great chance to do better than 12.. are you all ignoring we just signed one of the greatest defensive minds in the game as our coach?

If our defense was 20th or worse, you would have a case that DT is our biggest need.. but we did damn well considering all the variables. I guess it's too convenient to ignore that though..

esp, when we can grab a solid DT in FA..

we were dead last in points scored. how many points is Fairley going to score us?

The question is how many points can he stop so our offense doesn't have to get in a shoot out?

2010: 25.5 average pts a game

Rush defense: 125 yards a game against

If he can help those stats, our offense doesn't have to improve a lot. Red zone ineptitude is what hurt most.

If we were having a draft that included former and current players, I would draft Warren Sapp a full ten rounds ahead of where I would draft Andrea Johnson, if not more. Johnson is a very good wide reciever. Sapp is a hall of fame defensive tackle and probably in the top five all time among defensive tackles. Andrea Johnson might have a chance at the hall of fame but it's not likely given guys like Chris Carter and Andre Reid still are on the outside looking in. Not to mention Andrea Johnson wouldn't be in the top10 all time reciever list.

    • We had Darnold in a terrible situation for Sam Darnold and the team he's QBing. Darnold is best deployed as a high level game manager. He has elite throwing skills but he's disaster waiting to happen when he has to press and a QB has to press on a bad team. Seattle is a great spot for him surrounded with great weapons with an elite defense to lean on.  Swap him and Stafford last night and the Seahawks cruise while Darnold has 3-4 turnovers having to try to play hero ball for the Rams.
    • This picture was posted by the NFL back in September and shows Darnold and Maye at the front closest to the Lombardi trophy. I personally don’t believe in the “script” theory. I do believe that the NFL will influence specific games to get a more entertaining outcome at times. However, this is gaining some steam online and even got a response from NFL PR.
    • In the last 5 years, nearly 10% of the NFL's starting QBs (19% of the NFC QBs) were / are (at some point) on the Panther's roster.  Of those QBs, their 2025 win percentage (regular season) was (combined-- the Seahawks, Bucs, and Panthers) won 30 of 51 games--nearly 60%--in 2025.  At an average of 10 wins per season, a team has a better than 90% chance of making the playoffs.  (Heck, I nearly added Caleb Williams to this forumula since we basically gave the Bears their QB as well).
