This Man is a Hero :)

In the wake of the Tucson shootings, there are a lot of tragic stories. This one made me cry while I was watching it on CNN

More details are emerging about the harrowing and heroic last few moments of a former Washington state man's life, that ended during the weekend shooting rampage in Arizona.

When a gunman opened fire outside a Tucson grocery store, Dorwan was there with his wife Mavy.

"As soon as they realized that what they were hearing were not fireworks, he threw himself on Mavy and forced her to the ground," Stoddard said, voice choking. "[Dorwan] took three bullets while he was shielding his wife."

Mavy was his childhood sweetheart. A woman Dorwan reunited with and married in his 60's, a wife he cared for until the end.

"As soon as the shooting stopped, Mavy realized that Dorwan had been shot. She cradled him when he passed. They had maybe ten minutes. At that point I think he realized that she was OK and he left us."

That is just the sweetest and most selfless thing ever. Watching her tell the story made me cry, she talked about how he died right there on her leg and the last things that he said to her before he stopped breathing

    • Ultimately it's up to the other safety prospects to clearly outplay Scott. I think when that happens on tape against other teams it'll be addressed. I think none of them have done that definitively and consistently yet.
    • Night and day difference in the front office investements.  Since Morgan has been in the FO (5 years)....4 out of 5 first round picks have been offensive players.  The one defensive pick was a corner. Expand it out to the first 2 rounds? 7 out of the 9 picks have been offensive.  That IMO is why our D sucks so bad.   You build defenses up front.   Carolina hasn't been investing there.  Ron's first 5 years? 3 of the 5 first round picks were defensive players.  Expand it all to include second rounders  7 of the 10 picks were defensive.  All front 7 players.
    • I think he gets this year to show what he can do.  Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two.  It's the first preseason game.  Some of the starters weren't even in it.  There is no scheming or game planning.  Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense.  Let it play out.
