Rumor: Bowers wants to stay in carolina, hates Denver...

After spending some time on that broncos board some poster who apparently is at least in respectable standing said he met Bowers in a bar, Bowers said he wants to stay close to home, he'd love to stay in carolina. Said he hated the idea of playing for Denver.

Just a rumor, even if it is true Bowers could have been drunk who knows if it has any merit.

Always good to have a guy who wants to play for your team it makes the transition so much smoother and. But ultimately its not really his choice, although if past history is any indication the Panthers do tend to favor 'hometown heros' more so than any other team I can think of (or maybe I'm just ignorant of other teams doing it). I doubt we take him though because DE isn't our most pressing need right now...

Yea if they weren't born here they went to college in the Carolinas. I like the philosophy and it's only going to help bring for local fans to the team as we grow. Its weird that the kids that were born the year the Panthers played their first game will only be getting their drivers license this year. Pep could have been a NC legend had he stayed with the team.
