How I would handle the 1st pick

If I were in charge of the panthers draft I would:

Find a team that really wants that number one spot (I know its probably the least valuable 1st pick in many years)

I would trade down for: this years 2nd and 4th and a 1st round pick next year

Do you think a team would be willing to make that trade? and if so, who would want to reach that high up and where do you think we could land it? Mid 2nd and 4th? maybe even an early 2nd and 4th.

That gives us a 2nd, two 3rds, and two 4ths. We could avoid having to pay the heavy 1st round money befor the league decides on a rookie salary cap. (If they are going to, which I believe they will)

Next year it gives us 2 1st round picks in a much stronger draft class. and having to pay less money for the picks.

I feel with no obvious 1st pick selection as in years past, this would be a great move by the front office.

Isn't that what a forum is for?

And yeah, I went to ECU for 2 years before I transfered to UNCW. and LAW are my initials not my major.

My major was even more useless. Psychology. But eventually, after grad school it might pay off. Thanks for taking an interest

lol ECU to UNCW

what, couldn't get into UNCC to pull the Chapel Hill slingshot?

Actually I got married and my wife managed the victoria secret in Wilmington, just made more sense for me to move. Plus ECU was nothing but a distraction. Loved the school, couldn't, for the life of me, make it to all my classes. But sadly if my GRE goes well in a few weeks we will be heading to the worst football college in the SEC next year. Vandy

    • He was so much fun to watch as a player but is a prototypical example of the old "never meet your heroes" adage. Great player, not a great guy.
    • Look.... if us BY "haters" give credit about his GWDs...... Will the BY stans also have honest discussion about the 55minutes before the last 5 in which BY has put up 9/20 for 78 yards 0 TDs???
    • The way they are handling now is how they should have handled it from the start instead of that you get a series, you a get a series. Let Chuba spell until he had some of his step back.  We definitely could have put a better showing against Buffalo and their weak run defense had we employed the same game plan we did against Green Bay. Saints were determined to stop the run and make Bryce beat them, Atlanta had similar plan and the coaches and Bryce were able to respond.  Rico although didnt have the best rushing game was vital in the passing game and his catch and run help get us into the redzone there at the end of regulation probably should have been a touchdown that out of bounds was a judgement call it wasn't conclusive and thus should have went with the original call on the field.  Roco brings that dawg to the offense that it shorely lacked up until Miami game. Interesting it was his call that help seal the win for us, glad the coaches were listening. Hope they can get a deal done and run it back next year.
