Rex Ryan

Rex Ryan has coached the Jets to the AFC Championship game in both of his first two seasons with a 4-1 playoff record.

Ryan is now 20-12 as a head coach in the regular season. 22-13 overall.

He gets alot of flak (self imposed by the way), but when it counts, his team backs up his big mouth. Credit where its due.

He's a great coach, but I kinda dislike the trash his team talks. I like the way he does it, but this year the players are really joining in pretty heavy and I'm not so big on that.. Just a personal preference thing I guess.

Very impressed with how they are on the field though, he really has them playing at a very high level. They have a shot to take it all.

I love how hard his team plays for him, but i'm willing to guess that target on thier backs is going to be huge for the next couple years.

it will be interesting to see how the leauge and that fan base responds when the jets are having a down year and rex has ran his mouth to his opponents

I think the guy is a loud mouthed lard ass, but I think players want to play for him b/c he encourages them to be poor sports.

I noticed a lot of Jets players doing that plane celebration after the game yesterday, it reminded me of a soccer player celebrating after a goal, I'm sure it was Ryan's idea.

I agree

I hate the fact that ESPN seems to eat this crap up too because he's the Jets coach ...if he were a coach in KC or Seattle he wouldn't get that much air time

    • Names I'd keep an eye on... Coby White,  Jalen Suggs, Amen Thompson  and Stephen Castle...  3 teams except Orlando has checked on Melo before and rumblings of sours getting rid of fox too. I'd think they think Melo and Wemby would make them nuclear out west.
    • Well he somehow had 12 preseason carries for not playing. He also has 20 carries in the regular season, not three. He has actually played in about 7% of the offensive snaps for this regular season(33% of the special teams snaps). This isn't stuff you have to make up, these are very easily referenced statistics, man.
    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
