Probably won't work. Good luck trying to find and replicate complete mammoth DNA. Even if you can and the elephant gives a successful birth, there's one thing the Jurassic Park novels made very clear: What you have created isn't a Mammoth. It's a member of its species with a specific phenotype and all of it's mutations plus whatever side-effects the procedure or errors caused and, for that reason, very much its own species. The first of its kind.

If anyone can do it it's Japan.
