Mizuno cavity backs have treated me well

T-Zoids? My old man plays those. I played forged Hogan Edges for the longest time. Played the grooves off of them. Awesome irons that i hated to give up but kind of old school. I'm playing some Nike Victory irons now. I hit them well but they are heavy. Kind of a hybrid cavity/blade mix as you go from long to short.

the ones I have are cavity backs and they were sort of semi custom...not sure why, but I went with the graphite shaft and I know I hit the ball plenty hard enough that I will certainly be upgrading to steel this time around. Think the old ones are Palmers or something...

This has nothing to do with what you said but I might be able to get you a hookup at Taylormade. I usually get 40% off but I dunno how we'd made the logistics work. Also if you buy them this way there is no warranty on them.

I play Callaway X-12's I bought used off a scratch golfer I work with. 2-SW for $250. Then added on matching woods new.

There is nothing wrong with saving some money and buying used. Just inspect the shafts for cracks and such. You are going to be hitting things with them anyway.

Unless you are really good I would suggest cavity backs and be sure to get whatever you buy fitted. That is most important.

Yeah you meet some interesting characters at the golf course. I worked at a course for a year and a half when I was in college and the people and the stories they tell are amazing. I played either 36 or 27 holes for a year straight and some of the members ended up doubling my paycheck each week!

The best was when one member always said he was a 1 handicap and tried to qualify for the US Open at Torrey Pines. He was a grade A asshat, drove a Farrari and took up two spots, had a wife less than half his age who had great tits, and always top of the line gear. You need to be a 1 handicap to be able to try and qualify. Long story short he shot well over 100 before they made him stop playing without finishing his round and he's basically been blacklisted at many nice courses in SD. I laugh every time I think about him.

His wife finally woke up and left him with a lot of his money and a new boob job! Everyone wins.
