Who is the BPA of the draft?

I really feel like that's a tough question to answer. How do you compare AJ Green's talents as a receiver to Nick Fairley's as a DT? Wouldn't "who is the biggest sure-thing in this draft?" be a better question?

If that's the question, I say Peterson or Green. Still, I don't think you take either of thsoe guys at #1.

That is what I was driving at.

It comes down to 5 players. Newton, Bowers, Green, Peterson, Fairley

I'm going to rate them in three catagories, highest upside is the tie breaker

Highest upside:

1. Newton

2. Bowers

3. Green

4. Peterson

5. Fairley

Pro Ready:

1. Peterson

2. Green

3. Bowers

4. Fairley

5. Newton

Blow up potential:

1. Bowers

2. Newton

3. Fairley

4. Green

5. Peterson

Thus PBA is...

1. Peterson

2. Green

3. Newton

4. Bowers

5. Fairley

Looks like I just talked myself out of the Fairley camp... except if we were talking biggest need... then it would all change

I like the way you broke it down and came to the same conclusion of Peterson but I would lean torward Newton over Failey as my first pick based on his upside. If you take your catagories and apply your value to each catagory you have your pick

that was actually a great way to look at it. I would say that Newton has the biggest bust potential though.

    • I don’t think we were watching the same game. Dalton’s passes weren’t on target either. Especially the 30 yard one that gave XL one third of his yards. The one he had to stop and come back for. XL just got more targets because Sauce was on TMac.
    • A starving dog is thankful for table scraps too.  Yes, the winning streak is nice, but going from bottom dwellers to mediocre still isn't the long term solution.  Enjoy the now, but don't lose sight of the future.  Some of us know this is not a model that can sustain us forever nor deliver us a championship.  Teams will eventually lock down our rushing attack.  Our defense will lapse periodically.  There will be a time where we need a QB to play 'hero ball'.  We don't have that type of QB on this roster.
    • He came off the bench he should have been in the game from the start, he was coming off a historic 2 game run you ride that momentum and see what happens. That rotating series b.s is just cute it's not how football is played and won. Chuba can spell Rico but why force 50-50 split when the production isnt split?
