The offense can help them by getting a lead. I mean it was the Falcons but 0 points? That doesn’t happen in the NFL very often.

I know the Falcons shot themselves in the foot multiple ways but the defense played a part in that 0.

The NFL these days, teams are a work in progress for at least the first half of the year. We should see improvement continue for a little while. Throw Luke into any defense it is improved but this one is just waiting for that guy. A guy that could be like, Luke light, Temu Luke,  would be a huge shot in the arm.

We desperately need a real ILB green dot guy and a legit edge rusher so bad lol. Everyone else playing their roles would be fine. Derrick Brown and Jaycee are keeping us afloat for now. Everywhere else is actually solid depth/role players but nothing to write home about

If you consider skill set, decision-making, and past performance, Bryce fails in all three areas when compared to other SUCCESSFUL NFL QBs.  Throw in the fact that Bryce is not an Alpha, I really think he is a long-term NFL backup and nothing more.

For the record, I banged the drum for Daniel Jones. Some of you mocked me--some scoffed.  Others nearly gave me the poo emoji.  It was terrible for me, but I have resiliency.  Not to say he would be the cure all, but with the new OL and WRs, I thought he could succeed here.  Reason?  He is big, mobile, and smart.  I looked at the stats of QB performance under pressure vs. those without pressure (completion rate, etc) and if you can't protect your QB, he is going to suck.

THe Panther OL is better at pass pro that run blocking, and Rico still went off for 200.  What is going on?

by the way, the INT was purely based on Bryce's height.  He was moving forward, and still felt the need to go to his tippy toes like a damn Russian Ballerina.  That causes the ball to sail.  He missed on a wheel route--the easiest downfield pass in the playbook, and he was generally not accurate a few other times.  Not sure I can recall too many plays where he threw an NFL-caliber pass that seperates him from college QBs.

The first two game balls should have been given to Rico and the Fins run defense.

Bonus question: why hasn’t BC been starting at guard in Hunt’s absence?

I’ve said this for weeks

i heard some pablum from Canales about, well, he is our back up center, he is our backup tackle (I though that was Yosh, the guy Canales was raving about who was abysmal)

brady needs to play period

same with horn, and horn needs more than jet sweeps and screens which we all knew DC would use the kid for. He was finally forced to something more and the kid made a play

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
