I am too dull to understand those spreads. But my eyes say this:

When he is in the pocket and steps not just up, but through a gap so that he is alone yet still behind the LOS - he has put both the blockers and the rushers behind him, and he is in the open… that is how he can find someone. And he has made quite a few good plays doing that.  If he stays in the actual pocket, he is very often dealing with obstructed vision. He has made some plays from the pocket but generally they are to the outside or a bit deeper. You just have to watch.

I made a post about this some time ago about where his vision sight line is vs the height of average nfl lineman with shoulder pads. Bryce's LOS is obstructed. Seeing around a helmet in your sight line is much different than an NFL lineman's body. Put 3 or 4 of those linemen, plus defenders in front of him and well...

It's why he's so quick to bail on a pocket. He can't see. And for those that say NFL linemen are the same size now as in college, that's true. But Bama had much better oline talent than the defenses they played and opened bigger gaps. 5*s vs 2/3* most weeks. Now everyone is 5*.
