Yeah, Tepper is a fuging egomaniacal bitch.  You waste THREE fuging seasons of people’s lives as fans because you so desperately want to be right, when you are so fuging obviously wrong.  This wasn’t just a “damn, well at least we were close,” mistake.  This was trading draft capital and arguably a top 5 WR at the time to move up to #1 and take the biggest fuging draft bust of all-time, not-even-fuging-close kind of mistake.  It was obvious from his first snap.  And if you had, at the latest, fixed it this past offseason, we would be pushing for the division.  Jameis Winston would be putting up MVP fuging numbers with this squad.

On the field, I think Jamarcus was probably an even bigger bust but when you factor in the trade Bryce is honestly the biggest draft bust of all time.

just a few months after denying two firsts (and a 2nd?) for Brian Burns.

I agree with that sentiment on the surface, but having watched Jamarcus, even as big of a bust as he was, when you saw him play and the physical abilities, I still say Bryce is a bigger bust without considering the trade and value given up.  The thing that makes Bryce so bad, and why he is such a huge bust is that it’s immediately obvious from the eye test that he cannot perform in the NFL on a physical level.  Jamarcus could run, was strong, and could throw the ball 80 yards from his knees.🤣  I’d watch that version of being wrong a million times over a fuging middle schooler who can’t throw over 20 yards and is fuging inaccurate all over the field and fumbles the ball and shits himself when he has to make a play one on one as a ball carrier.

Yeah, the one thing the NFL is usually good at is not wasting premium draft picks on guys who lack the physical tools. They'll role the dice on raw prospects oozing talent but the guys who clearly lack the tools usually plummet.

Bryce is the type of guy who usually goes in the mid to late rounds because it's obvious he didn't have the physical tools to translate his college success to the NFL.

Agreed.  That’s what makes this poo so fuging egregious and tough to accept.  How pro talent evaluators chose this poo at #1?

and as an aside, I’m curious as to if Jamarcus had been given more time to mature and endless grace like Bryce has been given if he would’ve been able to turn it around.  Most of his issues as a pro was simply because he didn’t care.  There’s the story about the coach sending him home with fake film to watch and he lied and said he watched it when he came back to the building and they knew because there was nothing on it.🤣. Had he actually studied, he would’ve been in the league a long time, even if just as a Ryan Leaf type of guy.

It just frustrated me because leading up to the draft I was pointing out all the flaws. Not just the lack of physical tools but why he wouldn't translate stylistically. It was all so painfully obvious. I've never seen the entire football world get so horribly duped by a prospect.

Same.  I was out in Bryce as a NFL QB after his first year starting at Bama after actually watching him.

ive told many people, i hope he has set his agent and PR team up for life, because they absolutely deserve it for the con job they pulled off.  I’ve never seen anything like it and never would’ve imagined it.

We should probably just stop accepting the bare minimum from the most important position on the field.

Hell, I'm begging for the bare minimum. I honestly don't think Bryce meets that. Once we give up on him I honestly don't see him making it even as a long-term backup. He's just not an NFL roster caliber QB.

I keep telling folks, it would be more fun watching PJ Walker lose than Bryce.   PJ at least has NFL tools just not the brain.  Bryce got neither

I was one of few who genuinely appreciated PJ.  He has his flaws, but he could fuging sling it and gave it his all when given the opportunity.

I mean, there is no argument PJ Walker should be QB #1 or anyone’s plan.    But PJ Walker had a high ceiling and is more fun to watch. So if you are going to lose, I’d rather watch him lose.

I advocated for a complete new QB room going into this year.  The Dan Morgan pass is absurd.  And all these clowns should have left with Fitterer.  Dan, Jim, Dom, etc.  We didn’t clean house and needed to.  We got all the people that brought us the Bryce Young era still here just not Fitterer’s face

If they keep him, I will tell why I believe he was pumped up so hard and why people were so willing to be fooled.
Because I will turn in my Panthers fan card at that point and won’t have anything to lose by promoting what will be a very unpopular opinion. As it is, I still like coming here so ain’t saying poo.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
