As someone who has not liked Bryce throughout the season…

You have to pick up the option for too many reasons:

1) There isn’t an obvious plan B right now

2) He just played well in a home playoff game

3) it financially makes sense

4) we need to allocate resources elsewhere ( defense)

Agreed 100%, particularly pass rushers.  I would still look in this years draft somewhere between rounds 4 and 7 for a project QB, and possibly sign a free agent to push the the red rocket.  We need a plan if Bryce fails to continue to improve.  I was telling some one the other day if we had a QB with the size and tools of Cam, but with the brains of Bryce we would have a dynasty in the making.

nope.....  going soft in the last defensive series was the issue

Both things were major issues, cannales last four play calls were the worst ive seen all season.... four consecutive mid to deep level to the boundary routes when they blitzed and left the short middle wide the eff open.... when you need 30 yards to get a fg attempt with 3 time outs he went full retard those plays would be understandable if it was a no time out situation but he had 3 that was god f*cking awful playcalling on offense.

i am going to wait until the all 22 comes out before i make judgement. sometimes on tv we think that that only routes we see are the ones he called, but it can also be that bryce just didnt throw them. Kurt warners breakdown of bryce shows that he leaves some plays on the field. he is most comfortable to the boundaries and outside the numbers not in the middle of the field.

It was Cardinals game 2.0 at the end. Those two end of game possessions were mirror images of one another. He either learns and grows, or this becomes a one year wonder. I hope he figures it out. Before today I could not envision Bryce holding the trophy having his Foles "wow" moment. After today, you can at least see a path.

Improve the defense, maybe Brooks becomes a dude, Tmac and Coker become a force. Bryce plays at his ceiling more than a handful of times a year. There's a path if they keep improving. It won't be easy, next year is a freaking hellscape schedule wise. But if they make it out alive next year, they've arrived.

I have all 22 as well and ive already went and watched the last drive over in slow motion with the TV feed, its possible but on that footage there was NO ONE AND I MEAN NOTHING no defenders or tes or wrs in the middle 10 yard range right after the snap.

Gotta go back and watch how shorter QBs have found ways to attack the middle of the field. I cant imagine how frustrating it is to have talent and be limited by one thing you cant control, your size.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
