I think we should remind ourselves that we have the best RB's in football and the best RB core in the game!! We haven't drooled over them in a long while!:D:D

1. Deangelo Williams

2. Jonathan Stewart

3-32. EVERYONE ELSE

Yes...And I think we souldnt be letting any of these 2 guys go. They are the heart of our offense for sure.

Running backs are only as good as your OL. Our line has been in steady decline (just short of free-fall) since 2008.

In 2009 and 2010 they were able to improve dramatically at the end of the season. But they're getting older and we need a group who can put it together for the entire regular season (and playoffs, hopefully).

I never thought I would say this, but we should consider trading one of them IF we can get a solid QB. If we can't, then keep them. We can't compete in our conference with Matt Ryan and Drew Brees.

I'm confident that Rivera's schemes will handle those two. Its Freeman who scares me.

I think the relationship is about mutual. Deangelo wouldn't have had all those long runs in 08 if it wasn't for him being a badass. Our line isn't that old at all. Gross is the only one in his 30's if I'm not mistaken. Wharton will last a good while longer. We just need to shore up RG and draft or sign a tackle with some potential so that we can groom him in the event one of the tackle's goes down.

Schwartz can be a good RG and a suitable tackle. What we really need is for Duke Robinson to emerge and maul people with Otah. That will solve a lot of depth problems.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
