E-cigs...vape'em if ya got'em

Just bought my e-cig starter kit a couple of days ago. I've tried to quit smoking several times with no luck, other than a couple of weeks here and there. I've come to the conclusion that my addictive personality will not let this habit die easily. So I decided to check out e-cigarettes.

After a couple of days with it, I can say that my smoking has been cut to about 1/4 of what I normally smoke. I'm actually trying to phase out the real cigs totally. First I have to get used to the vapor. It actually hits my lungs harder than real cigarettes, or maybe that's my imagination.

Anyone else tried these? If so , what has been your experience? I think I may be able to get off of real cigarettes eventually. I think the habitual part of lighting up, ashing, etc. may be a part of the process that has to be broken down.

Buddy of mine was on it for about a month. Eventually cut out real cigs all together. Then he had just 1 because he needed a smoke, didn't have the e-cig, so he bummed on off of somebody. Then he bought a pack. Long story short, he hasn't touched the e-cig in 3 weeks. If you're serious about it, don't under ANY circumstances pick up a real cig once you are able to go without and rely on the e-cig alone. Eventually, ween yourself off the e-cig and replace it with something else (like drawing, jogging, etc).

Side-note: I've been addicted to dip for years. Need to quit, but everybody around me in this dorm dips. It is impossible to avoid. :(

I never had much luck using them to avoid actually smoking. TBH I don't think the nicotine levels in the liquid are what they say they are, or if there's even any nicotine there at all.

As far as the addictive personality goes, yeah I think that has a lot to do with it. I've abused lots of different addictive drugs in my younger years and subsequently quit them without much problem. Cigarettes on the other hand...

I dont smoke anymore, but when I was in high school, they had these cigarettes called Eclipses....they were still cigs just that they didn't smoke and you would just light the top and it wouldn't burn down, it would stay the same size the whole time..

Ive seen those e cigs in the mall though. Luckily, I didn't need anything to quit, I just stopped smoking one day b/c I didn't feel like it anymore..

My advice? Every time you want a cig, take a hit from the bowl :)

I don't know how much nicotine is actually in these things, I guess they are supposed to be the same as a real cig. I have been able to use the e-cig in place of smoking pretty effectively right now. I still haven't cut out cigs totally, but I only have 3 or 4 a day (I was a pack a day smoker).

It's funny how hard it is for me to quit smoking. I was able to quit drinking relatively easy, but smoking is just a bitch to quit.

    • I have started doing my research on these draft picks and I like this guy. But I'm am iffy on taking a TE in the first if isnt a flat out generational guy more importantly on this team where it's questionable we get the necessary impact out of him. I say if a top defensive guy at their position falls to 19th you jump on it and push this defense to an elite unit. The offense will do their part.
    • fans view “box safety” with the same disdain they have when they hear “game manager” QB. but there’s a reason most 1st round safeties are “box safeties”-it’s a much longer list of requisite skills to be a good box safety than it is to be a guy whose only real responsibility is to not get beat over the top. Fans crave the ed reed type and as someone who has never been able to enjoy this franchise having a guy like that, I get the enthusiasm-but I’m not really prepared to spend a first round pick on a free safety. If it happens it’ll be fun, it’ll address a need with a good player and that’s well and good. But those guys end up walking after their first contract because their pedigree usually outpaces what their teams feel like they’re adding to their overall win total.
    • Its criminal that the upcoming season is mainly in the tiny hands of BY.  I still member the time I did a full turn, if you member his first off-season from that Panthers all-time worst team....... Answering questions at his first presser, he goes along the lines " I didn't do nothing, no weight room or throwing" " I needed to get away". I was fully out with him, the guy didn't even try to improve his football mind, body, strength, in the biggest joke of panther football. I could not believe it, what a leader or dare say "point guard"(lols @ NBA point guards as a ref)
