This is getting more interesting than most thought. Three sources: Extension of talks now a definite possibility.

Just heard from #MajorBigTime NFL insider: "Hearing some crazy things. Hearing this thing could be extended, but I don't just don't know."

Several sources are saying that the deadline could be extended...this is definitely a better outcome than decertification and a lockout.

Also, in light of the good news I won't mention that I called this last night...lol.

Sources coming...

duh.

Oh and this means Free agency does start but with no Cap again and players need 6 years to be a URFA. It would also mean I presume all tags are valid and stay in place.

So JR free agency is going to start, you are gonna have to actually spend some money or lose out.

This is a delay tactic. The owners bluff was called. The union intended to decertify today if the deadline wasn't moved. The owners did what they had to do to prevent this from going to court. This could be bad news for fans if a resolution is not found, because delaying the deadline, delays the decertification, which delays the court cases, which delays the judgement.

It's pretty apparent the owners aren't going to give, but let's just hope that the judgement in Minnesota concerning the TV contracts openned the owners eyes to exactly what they will face during antitrust lawsuits that will result from decertification....

Just remember Judge Doty's ruling was meaningless...

It is... The owners will either extend or just lock out and wait for the ruling to be overturned. No other judge will side with the owners and if I had to guess he is one of Smiths friends.

I didn't even consider that...I wonder if that's how it would work? I would assume so, especially since other teams are signing extensions left and right. With that said...I think free agency would get pushed back as well.

LOL and what is that? Wahhh you don't pay me enough? What are they really going to win? you can't hold the owners to the current pay salary because the CBA expired.

What it does is put hundreds of players in limbo as they can't move from team to team because that would be collusion.

Time to deal with reality, the billionaire owners are successful business men for a reason. They aren't afraid of the NFLPA, court, congress or anything. They know exactly what they are doing and the end result will be, the players have to come back to the table as a union (which they must have to get free agency etc) and take what the owners demand. This is a waste of time for everyone, the end result is the same = owners win
