What will Chud's offense look like?

Lumps

I do not think it will be a cooke cutter Fox offense. It will be about creating a mismatch.TEs and backs like Goodson will play much more in this scheme. We may finally throw over the middle freezing the safeteys and Lbs.I wonder sometimes how a pro bowl qb would have performed given the offensive schemes and blocking we had last year.

yeah, I think I clearer picture of what to expect can be found by looking at Clev than SD.

there is still a feed the stud mentality to it......so Jimmy opting away from someone like Steve Smith downfield still won't fly b/c he is scared of making throws to guys that generate attention. Chud also didn't run as many WRs as what went on in SD.

That's true I did see that last season and I can understand why. He was a rookie. Our offense has always been the ground n pound. Last year we might have come in a little bit cocky with the running game. Stewart and DeAngelo broke an NFL record by both going over 1100 yards in one season while one of our qbs at 18 interceptions in 11 or 12 games. The coaches probably told Jimmy to just control the ball and try not to turn it over. Jimmy played in 13 games total and had 9 INTs on the year. 9 INTs isn't that bad through 13 games if you also look at the talent he had around him. The entire right side of the O-Line was pathetic. Williams was hurt for the majority of the year we even lost Stewart for a game or 2. I'm sure Clausen also didn't want to mess up and was really trying not too (which is why you saw so many check downs and him just throwing the ball away) I'm not saying the coaches told him to do that, but I wouldn't doubt it either. Not to mention our OC was the worst and most predictable in the league.

Basically, I think that if Jimmy does win out the starting job the he knows this is probably the last shot he's going to get to be a starter on this team so hopefully you see him get away from that conservative mentality and open it up more. And I'm sure most of you have played a sport once you start making some big plays you're confidence sky rockets hopefully it works for Clausen
