lol I wouldn't go that far as to say it's a foregone conclusion. If Gabbert rocks his pro-day he could end up being our pick. I hope not, I think Newton has a much better chance of being great than Gabbert, but there's also at least 3 other players I think have a much better chance than Newton - Green, Peterson, Dareus.

Everybody here does realize that the best CB in the league is only gonna be able to cover a guy for about 5-6 seconds right? If we can't get any pressure on the QB then Peterson isn't going to be worth a thing.

Patrick Peterson... #1... lol...

If we take a CB #1 overall, I'm seriously done with Marty Hurney, and will personally start a serious campaign to see him fired.

One of the few times I, actually, agree 100% with you. ;)

I agree 0% with both of you.

I have no problem with drafting Cam Newton or Gabbert in the first round. as the first pick in the draft I think its a reach. Just my lowly opinion tho...

As much as I'd like to see Newton here, if the team absolutely had zero interest in him, and we had to pick between Gabbert at QB or Peterson at CB, it's going to be Gabbert all the way.

Not only are impact CBs easier to gameplan for than even a DT or DE, there is also the fact that we have a decent/good secondary already, good CBs are almost always available in FA, and we had the absolute worst QB play in our Franchise History last year.

As good as Peterson is, a CB would set us back a year while we again try and sort out our mess at QB.
