Fairly does not use his hands well, just uses speed. If you dont use your hands you're going to lose. First strike and step are the most important... Quickness and speed are an extra penetrating bonus. I'd rather demand the double team for my DE's and LB's, and be able to work the Double Team and at least command it. Fairley will be a rich mans Derek Landri to be honest.. I think Dareus is the better of the two.. and I think PP trumphs the world.

I wanted him until the Auburn pro-day, if drafting DT. Fairly is so quick though, which is key to being dominant at DT. Thats why Kris Jenkins, when healthy was so great. He was very quick off the snap.

Fairley had a better 40 time than Dareus. But, that is generally not the number you want to look at with DTs. The number most scouts use for DTs is their 10 yard burst, the first 10 yards of their 40.

Per NFLDraftScout...

Fairley's 10 yard dash: 1.72 seconds

Dareus's 10 yard dash: 1.68 seconds

Dareus is actually faster off the line than Fairley while being 30 lbs heavier.
