Replacement player wish list?

First of all Goodell did rule out replacement players months ago. So Florio is just making stuff up.

As for finding a franchise guy in a replacement player, seriously??? IF these guys are not even good enough to be picked up on a UDFA contract, why would they be able to play at a high level. If they were good enough to be a replacement player, they should be good enough to tryout and walk onto the squad as a UDFA. The reason there was a movie about a guy off the street trying out and making the Eagles is that is doesn't happen but once in a blue moon.

Goodell doesn't have the authority to rule out replacement workers. The NLRB allows replacement workers in the event of financial losses that will cause economic stress on the economy. A $9 billion dollar industry closing the doors for a season and the residual effects (outside costs could be plus $50 billion) would cause such a stress. Replacement workers are allowed and the NLRB will probably require the NFL to replace the workers.

Gooddell's promise assumed that a CBA would get done before the season began. If that doesn't happen, then all bets are off.

In its first year, a scab/rookie team would be more competitive than any college team. And in 5 years, you wouldn't notice a difference between the NFL we have and the one we'd get.

Some of my friends (namely college football fans) fantasize that NFL fans would waiver and be suddenly become more interested in other collegiate football if the NFL hired scabs and rebuilt the league. I do not agree. As long as it lands most of the best college draftees, and cherry picks the Arena/Canadian leagues, combined with the visually stunning TV content NFL football will sell better than any of the other sports, especially if some of the unrestricted free agents break NFLPA ranks and join a NEW players union.

And why isn't the arrival of a new replacement union entirely possible? What law prohibits the league from negotiating with a group of football players who DOES accept the title/certification of union????

It isn't the players people want, it's the competition. Isn't that one reason why some fans don't want to see new rules that help the league reduce player injury? Isn't that why most fans say "just get the deal done", and they don't care who has to make a sacrifice to let that happen?

I promise you, kids will still want Fatheads of players you;ve never heard of, if the current batch of jokers is shown the door.

I got several tickets I would be glad to sell you at face value for the season if they go that direction then.

Sorry, got my own I'm stuck with. I just think we might see some guys on the field with passion for a change, and playing against equal caliber players, it wouldn't be as noticeable that the "gods" weren't playing.

T.A Mclendon (Offensive Player of the Year)

Corey Lynch (Defensive Player of the Year)

Terrence Holt (Super Bowl MVP)

This makes me want to vomit. T.A. Mclendon isn't good enough to be a replacement player... he is probably the most over-hyped, under performing player to ever play football in North Carolina.

Corey Lynch is good, but isn't he on an NFL roster?

Terrence Holt... maybe.

Sure, you go on believing that. Then the season happens with scabs, these guys get all redemptive with Gene Hackman and whatnot, and then BOOM! Dominating the competition. Shocked the world baby, shocked the world.
