Bills Believe Cam Is Their Franchise QB

Maybe Gailey, as widely reported, is enamored with Cam and desperately needs to do something at QB and to put asses in the seats.

How in the hell are the Bills more desperate than the Panthers are? We have a greater need for a franchise QB and a greater need to fill the stadium than they have.

Y'all are driving me crazy with this stuff. The only way the Bills would even consider making such a trade, is if they believe Cam Newton is going to be a superstar, and that is not going to happen because of anything the Panthers say or do.

Not everyone is as wise as us. Maybe they want to sell jerseys instead of win games?

They need to re energize their franchise more than win right now. We are closer to winning and don't need to be set back. Cam would at least bring buzz to them. We don't need buzz. We have talent.

Closer to winning?? Winning what?....... maybe 6-8 games a season with an aging veteran? If that. And there is no need to be concerned about being set back, because there is not much further back the Panthers can go. You are correct there is talent on this team BUT not at QB.

I am glad Hurney, Rivera, etc are doing what they are to evaluate the QB's and I do think they will go in that direction if they feel one can be a franchise guy. Otherwise if the Panthers go in a different direction it will be up to depending on Clausen to develop (which I hope he can and does no matter what) or making a dumb trade of a 1st rounder for Colb (which cant be done right now due to CBA) and either of those scenarios can easily result it taking many more years before the Panthers ever have talent at QB.

The Bills at least have Fitzpatrick, who had a very good year last year and is only like 27 or something. And the Bills haven't sold out as much of late but do usually fill up the stadium pretty good, you're probably right there. It's not like they're Jacksonville and have as many seats covered as they do sold

Yes we are closer to winning. We have a good defense that is a spot or two away from being elite and we have a lot of talent on offense that is a serviceable QB away from being pretty damn good.

With a new coach that has a track record of creating dominating defenses and fresh breath into the offense, we are so much closer than they are to winning it's insane.

Don't be surprised that with just a few tweaks, we are in the playoff hunt this year.

Once again, you're full of poo. The Bills have been selling out for years and years, and they already have a more competent QB than anybody on the Panthers roster right now.

And we haven't been selling out?

They might have a decent QB but they have nothing else. We have a lot of talent to build around with just a few tweaks. Plus their defense needs something like 13 new starters to be competitive and we only need 1-2.

Our team is moving in the right direction and Cam would set us back.

Two years ago the Bills had their first home game that didn't sell out in like 10 years. There's not a big problem putting people in the seats or having them interested, it's just a winning problem. And Clausen is still young but Fitzpatrick is far better than him or Moore right now. That could change in a year or two

They're drafting two spots behind us for a reason, and it's not because they had an easier schedule.

Yeah, we get it, you don't like Cam and never will. That doesn't make you right about him. I know for a fact that Mayock disagrees with you and he does this stuff for a living. He said that, as long as Cam wants to be great and is willing to work, that he definitely will be a franchise QB.

If i remember correctly, the panthers haven't had a blackout since '01..aka almost a decade of sellouts.

I do think Mayock has Newton as his #4 QB though, last I saw at least. So obviously he's not very confident in him, nor am I

Maybe not, but they certainly have had plenty of empty seats on Sundays for all the world to see. Obviously, a lot of PSL owners are not showing up for the games, and that is most definitely a problem for JR.

This is what I'm thinking too. At this point, I really hope someone will want to trade up.

The best case scenario is to draft Cam and hold him hostage, hoping someone would give up a bunch to get him, but they would have to really love him to do it. If not, he would be our pick. I would be surprised to see a trade prior to the draft with Buffalo.
